All the current statements are meaningless, because they can change again as long as the transfer window is open. Obviously MAtS won't make a career deciding decision a few hours after his talk. And it's not only about his career, also his children, girlfriend. He has nearly 2 months to make that decision. If he's still here by the end of the window, ask me again.
I still expect him to leave, even if late in August, because he won't play a minute anymore. Once he realizes the consequences of this, he'll start to look for alternatives. For now he's proud enough to engage the competition. But if Garcia will perform in the pre-season matches, it can change quickly.

He doesn’t want to leave. Club need to make a sale that gets rid of a significant salary.

It’s going to get ugly, but if he sticks to his plans of staying then I think Fermin gets sold in the end to get some money.

When you read Bundesliga/German forums they are livid about how we treat him

Long may it continue. Clueless bums.
You mean the Transfermarkt article? It's less about MAtS, more about Barca hate. This site bred their users to hate barca over the last decade. 99% of Barca related news were always negative, so these reactions are not surprising at all.
The same people insulted him when he made mistakes in the NT and wanted Neuer to keep playing till 40.

Oh boy, I understand the mats hate

But I still stand by, we should have just let Tek go.

Have Mats and Garcia right it out for number one, he would lose, we sell him next summer, promote someone from Barca B or the the Juvinel A keeper to back up.

Has to be a personality issue on why they want to release him. His top level is better than Woj, but Woj has a big save or two in him purely out of length.

In the end of the day, removing egos from equation the smart decision would be to resign him on a reduced contract (hear me out) until he is 38 or so, reducing his FFP impact.

Then say to him we want to loan him this season so he can play consistently and recover from his long term injury, further reducing his wages on this seasons FFP.

Win win for everyone. Unless they have information that he is done at the top level after injury like Valdes was.

I would rather we dont sign anyone than sell Fermin.
Especially knowing that the bums at the club would be happy to sell him for sell than 50m. No way any of the starters or supersubs are getting sold this Mercato.

Agreed, Garcia with Pena as a sub would've been just fine. No need for Tek or Statue.

Pep did the same thing when he originally took over.

On one hand, I understand that MATS has every right to stay due to his contract and I don't hold it against him. But on the other hand, I have a feeling that if he's kept on the bench, then he and his agent would probably start conducting interviews on how the club is treating him unfairly and it would turn the dressing room toxic really quickly. So yeah, he should leave, but we could have handled it better
