Are we favourites for the next Champions League?

After seeing the insanely stellar season last season, do you think this poises us as one of if not the favourite for the Champions League next season. And if not tell us why not

One of the favourites yeah, as one of the best teams in Europe. But as always so much plays a part, there are so many variables - form and tiredness at latter stages of the season, injuries, and not at all inconsequential is the luck factor in a knockout tournament.

It's too early to say really who will win it, but of course before a ball is kicked Barca will be a strong favourite. One thing though is that the longer Barca go without making a final the more of a psychological barrier it becomes (it has been ten years now and players and coaches are different but it can still hang over a club's head). Getting into last season's final (when it was well within grasp) would have stood the club in better stead for this season, even had they lost to PSG. I think that anyway.

Hopefully Barcelona can win it this season, though.

Why would we be?

Defense sucks for now.

Will Raphinha repeat his output next season or was it a one-off?

Will Yamal continue to improve?

Who is GK #1, is the Espanyol guy good enough when it's a big CL game infront of 100,000 fans?

Who is our main striker? Still Lewa?

Any depth?

What about opponents improving? Real can't be any worse, PSG have confidence, what about Liverpool who only lost to eventual winners?

Sure, winning is possible if everything goes to plan but favourites?

What’s with the pessimism man, we won 3/4 trophies playing our best football in 9 years and scoring 174 goals in the process and within a thread of the previous final. Look I understand the rationale behind such questions but after a great season it would be better to be more optimistic for the next one.

I am optimistic, I consider us one of the top 3 favourites. Just not clear cut #1 favourites / the team to beat.

This question is best for when season starts, when we see who we have signed, and if something has changed in the way we play

So far only signing is Joan Garcia. If transfer window ends like this, we can't expect CL trophy from Flick. But we will surely get some players

I think it's clear that PSG are currently the best team in Europe, and this season was one where the CL winner wasn't fortunate and wasn't a lesser team beating better teams. They have great players, play a dominating fast style, and have one of the very best managers in the game.

I'd still make them the number 1 favourite. Though you have to caveat that with saying only Real Madrid have retained/successfully defended the trophy in the CL era.

After that, there's a group who can win as alluded to by several posters above. Barca are in that group with Real Madrid, Liverpool, Man City and Bayern. The likes of Arsenal, Napoli and Dortmund are more like outsiders for me. I would be extremely surprised if the winner isn't in that group of six.
