Comparing Barca and PSG. We definitely lack the speed in defend. It's a huge weakness for us compared to PSG. They are just fast everywhere.

We need to add speed to defense. It's quite clear. They would cook us in counters while their defenseman can even catch Olise. Who is speedy.
Been saying this since we lost to Inter. We need a tall & fast defender.
Ideally a Left Footed LCB so he can take over Inigo. With Cuba as our main RCB.

But folks dont see this.

- I wanted to see Messi against top opposition. Did not need to be PSG in particular. Any of Barca, Bayern, Liverpool, Madrid, Arsenal, Inter, City, etc. would have been fine as well

- it's not my logic, it's how dribbles are calculated by stat companies

- this goal you post is an easy one for Messi. Open vision to the goal, defenders all over the place.

- sofascore ratings say nothing. They do not constitute any objective metric.

- 'general consensus' which means among Messi fanboys. Thanks, I am not buying.

- The opposite of what you say, it seems that you (and others) are nitpicking ('oh he made that pass there, he scored that goal here', etc.) without seeing the bigger picture. The bigger picture is he won't be able to compete among Europe's elite, and the PSG game showed that pretty much
- Your whole premise is that one game against PSG, the European Champions and the best team in the world, when Messi is playing in an MLS side, which is why a lot of people are having a lot of trouble understanding your logic. This is what you wrote below

By your logic, players like Bastoni for Inter or Julian for Atletico won't be hack it in Europe because they didn't show up at all during their respective matches in PSG.

- You still haven't answered of why Busi would not then be high up there in terms of dribbling.

- For the goal, that's not being specific of what you want. Very nitpicky at best.

- If sofascore is not an objective metric, then what is? Do you have an example?

- What would you consider general consensus then? This is Zlatan

- Bigger picture is eye test, stats, general consensus are indicate he still has the skills to compete in European elite. You haven't shown me much at all why that isn't the case, which comes into nitpicking. If you analyze any player, there's always things that you can nitpick.

- That's the evidence we have, because it happened that he played against PSG. Had he played against Bayern Liverpool or Arsenal I would have commented on that

- False equivocation again: we see Bastoni and Julian all year long against top sides, so we can judge their level
- I am not following what Busi is doing in MLS, maybe you know more.

- Right now that he is playing in MLS we can't have a metric, because all stats are calculated in the context of a kindergarten environment like MLS, that masks all flaws.
- Zlatan is far from a 'general consensus'. Zlatan is Zlatan and has his own views. And why should a statement by anyone that was clearly made to lift Messi up, mean or prove anything?

- Eye test against PSG proved to me he can't compete at the highest level. It was not something out of the blue, though. He was in steady decline already during the last Barca years, and more evidently in the PSG years. If he was still playing in Europe past 2023, everyone could have seen the gradual decline year by year

I pointed out very clearly to you central aspects where he has declined. If you choose to turn a blind eye on them, that's your problem mate
