Why are folks here ok to sell Fermin & Casado for such low fee or even sell while we have a player in his prime (Ferran) who fetches us good money, is a backup and can be replaced easily, but they dont want to sell him.

I dont understand this logic.

It's typical Barca logic. Sell Casado and/or Fermin because the factory has a ton of potential coming from behind in these positions.

But the reality is there is no guarantee they make it. Casado and Fermin while not the most talented, have that mentality to succeed and are vital in the rotation.

Good point on Ferran. He should be our most accessible exit. I'm sure he doesn't want to leave though, which is another typical Barca problem.

But then again, if we could keep the squad as is and just bring in Nico. I would be delighted.

I tell you want Chelsea would do in our situation. They would set up a company. Sell the VIP seats to themselves. And then sell them back to themselves later on.

Done, easy peasy. No FFP problems unless Detective Scrotum at LaLiga decides to have another deep dive into his eye bags.

Lets just sort this Nico thingy quilckly.

Our transfers are always a saga and I hope its not another 2 months ordeal this time.

I think it's done. All the noise is coming from Bilbao.

I think it helps their narrative with this Bayern angle as it puts all the pressure on the player and makes them look like the victim to their plebs.

Anyways Bilbao need to have a hard look at themselves. What makes Adama Boiro Basque for example?

Interest in Casado is the news of the day on Mundo Deportivo, biggest Barca newspaper.

:tumbleweed:
He waited long enough to get finally a spot in the first team, so the motivation for him to leave the club after the first season will be zero and his wage offer must improve massively for him to consider it.
For the club the offer must also be a big one, as he's the first rotation option for Hansi for Pedri or Frenkie so if the club sells him, they need immediately a replacement.

For me it's just another fabricated summer story. I give it <5%.

PS: MD and Sport might be the biggest barca newspaper around, but they also write much bullshit. It depends always on the journalist of the article, as they employ many from tier 1 - tier brazenly lying.

People still want to sell Ferran have to be on stupid pills.

Let's sell the only other player that can:
A. Fill the 9 spot
B. Play LW and RW
C. Scores goals off the bench

Only because of an agenda of him not performing under Xavi. You know who else was bad under Xavi? Raphinha

Except he wasn't, just wasn't as good as he is now.

22 goal contributions in 50 games in our league winning season

23 in 37 the season after.

But I agree with you re Torres

A. Fill the 9 spot
YES. He was the best sub we had. Its that simple.
B. Play LW and RW
NOPE. If he did, Raph and Yamal wouldnt have gotten 4600' of gametime, Lewa 3900' while Ferran just got 1900'
He was the best sub out of all shit ones. Thats it.
C. Scores goals off the bench
YES. Again he was the best sub out of all the shit ones. And everyone outscored there their previous numbers last seaosn, it was more about the system than the player. He just had a good season being a sub, thats it. He still wont be a starter for us. He has major disadvantages, where he cant be target man player.

D. Ferran gametime is about 2400' per season, in all his years of playing in different club. So its not that far than what he got last seaosn. Do not expect him to get a lot more this seaosn too. Flick only played him because he was the best of the shit bunch, or else he would have gotten quite a few more games seeing our front line was so thin.

E. People want sell him, because his stock is high now, while we are/were looking to get cheap alternatives. If we are not getting anymore forward players while Ansu & Pau are leaving, then there is NO one that would like to sell him.

F. People want to sell him because there are rumours of other clubs wanting Fermin or Casado, and people on this forum would want to sell Ferran first than sell anyone else.

I don't see Diaz happening. Liverpool will ask around 100m for him and that is way too much for Diaz and for us. Why should they open a construction site in their squad? They have absolutely no need to sell.

Rashford loaning out a season is the most likely bet right now. As long as it's just a short term, it'll be okay. Save the money for next summer, when we'll need a replace Lewandowski.
