@Porque

According to don Fab Como will also buy Jayden Addai, a winger from AZ Alkmaar for around 14m.

He was very good for AZ U19 team when they dominated UYL two years ago but has only played 600 total minutes (scored one goal) in Eredivisie last two years. Maybe there was some contract dispute he didn't play more and he was also injured few months last season but clearly nothing he's shown so far in senior football to justify that price. He'll also turn 20 in August so not that young anymore. Como clearly must see some untapped potential and hope Cesc can unlock him.

To use your example, how much would we sell Dani Rodriguez for if we would loan him to Eredivisie and he would barely played there? Probably not more than 2-3m.

Another example is Fer Lopez going from Celta to Wolves for 25m after playing 600 minutes in La Liga last season. He turned 21 last month and has no youth caps for Spain. But then there are Jorge Mendes's shenanigans (and PL clubs having more money than common sense) involved so probably not realistic to compare any of our transfer dealings to that.

Ok, to start with we are not a selling club. But it is deals like this that we have to think how we can leverage LaMasia talents better. Jesus Rodriguez has been a nice tricky winger for Betis. But Abde's understudy. And stats wise this season, 2 goals and 1 assist in 1220 minutes over 21 games. International wise only 5 U21 caps.

If you watch him you can see he is good but not a world class prospect.

You telling me that we can't get some LaMasia Tier 1.5-2 out on loan or involved in the first team like (for example) an uninjured Dani Rodriguez and then pop them off for 20+ million?

Now let me ask you a question. Fermin Lopez after his first season under Xavi, 23/24. 20 years old, 8 LaLiga goals over 1444 minutes and 31 games. Do you think we would have been able to get 22.5m (25m after variables) + a 12.5% sell on clause?

I doubt it.

We are awful at selling I don't know when that will ever change

Reading through these sport dailys today I'm left wondering the same thing I've always wondered

Why doesn't the club cut them all off, they are leeches that only exist because of FC Barcelona and serve no purpose but their own.

Always some BS with them, always creating noise to drive clicks

Because they're useful when the club wants to push a certain narrative through the media. They did it in recent history with Frenkie for example. Media is a strong propaganda tool, especially now when you can push news through Social Media to reach millions in mere minutes. Just look how Madrid is using it daily to put up pressure on everyone and their dogs. If you're the only one not using it, you'll be at a big disadvantage in today's times.

So first Deco was the biggest admirer of Diaz and wanted him much more than Nico. Suddenly he doesn't want him anymore? They're pulling their information out of their asses, especially Romero since Cruyff left the club.

The trojan horse has served his purpose while we sorted out Nico. Now burn it.

Laporta did that in his first tenure, he even hired a security company that found the club offices were bugged.

What was the result? The media hated him, and tried to get him out at every turn, they were even close in 2008. In 2010 they supported his nemesis and gave him the biggest Barca election win to date. In 2015, they supported Bartou.

Laporta has learned the lesson and understood that media control socios, he met with that family (I forgot the name) that controls large part of the media, and made peace with them.

It happened only once that a president won against the well of Catalan media, in 2003. We needed a perfect storm of great candidate, the club in shitty situation, internet was new niche etc.

Godo family, they own Mundo Deportivo and RAC1, among other media channels.

The Godo family runs the media in Barcelona and you cannot become the Barcelona President without them backing you. There is a reason Laporta went to Javier Godo a few years ago and apologized and patched up with him.

It's a long story, but remember when Laporta narrowly avoided a 2/3 majority to get booted out as President in his first term? Mundo Deportivo ran the media campaign against him. He tried to cut them off. He even tried to play some politics and lobby for Santi Nolla the director of the paper to get fired. Needless to say it completely backfired.

It doesn't matter if you're great or not. At the end of the day Joan Laporta is just an attorney who has no chance vs. a media conglomerate that runs the biggest newspaper in Catalunya, the biggest sportspaper in Catalunya and the biggest radio station in the region as well.

Anyone that wants to become the President of this club need to bend the knee. It doesn't matter if you're the most popular man in Catalunya. Laporta went many years without necessarily wanting to do so, but had to do it in the end.

The only exception is if you're a billionaire with a lot of political influence of course. Then even the media need to be wary of you and possibly be in your good graces. Think Florentino Perez lol. He is a shark in a world of sharks.

With all due respect to Laporta, he is just not a shark.

Back on topic. Atletico are trying to sign Romero from Tottenham, but will target Hincapie if they cannot sign him.

Would ideally like a taller CB than 1.84m with Cubarsi being around the same height, but I do like Hincapie.
