So, the last time someone came back in Clasico from 0-2 down to win it was 1959....by Barcelona. That's like 65 years ago.

It actually is crazy that no matter what the scorecard says, the team is never out of it

Not only not out of it, but basically from 0-2 it came back in our control multiple times. Basically at this rate, need to be more worried about what we do once back in control than our ability to turn it around. Mental.

We need defensive signings. Not backup, elite ones to compete with Balde and Kounde. I don't consider them both that high anyway. Football is not run according to Transfermarkt.
Competition is always good, but we can't afford it right now. We have more priority on the left-wing and striker position. Also maybe a centre-back, as we can't expect Martinez to perform another season like that giving his age and injury history. He'll need more pauses and Araujo doesn't look like a good fit for Flick's system.

I disagree. Outside Pedri's fitness problems, the team did not look gassed at all. The biggest need for me is pure and simple defensive signings. One for starter (CB), and 2 fullbacks for depth. Keeper is also needed but a luxury, should only be done if there is a big one available.

Yeah, obviously we're dead weight when Lamine, Raph or Pedri get suspension or injury. We need a lot reinforcement in many areas and what Flick accomplished this season with this inferior squad is nothing short of a miracle.

Also, about the keeper fixing things as they are, I have my doubts. Tek been facing a huge amount of 1 vs 1s and basically situations that even some elite keepers have a hard time doing something in. All of that due to not only system issues, but many many very poor individual errors. From players that should not start for us for the ambitions that this club has right at this moment.

For the offense, the club spend serious money for likes of raphinha, ferran, tractor, and olmo. But for the defense, it's all built on a budget. Free older or injury riddled players like Inigo, and Cubarsi... young inexperienced players that are no ready yet like Cubarsi, or Martin... free semi-retired keeper. If you look at it, basically made a financial effort only for Kounde in our entire defense.

It is noticeable that the defense is stitched together on a budget.

Fair point.

Courtois has shipped 16 goals vs. us this season in 4 games (more like 18 if you count legit goals disallowed).

Even the best of the best keepers look like dog shit if the defense hangs them out to dry.

We basically have an open position for the hardest job in world football. Marshalling the defense in a Flick system in BIG games.

Yes, could have shipped in 4 goals today and Tek got cooked in all of them. Can't pin anything on him or even close. Like multiple 1 vs 1 or even nastier 1 vs 2 situations. Tied to blunders from Cubarsi and Inigo mostly.

Admittedly, it's not easy for CBs in this team, but they simply have to do better.

We can score a big number of goals in very short period of time, this quality is maybe the most valuable in football. You can never be ruled out unless you are getting ridiculously battered.

When Barca surrounds and occupies the opponent even the sides deemed defensively solid such as Inter or Atletico get destroyed with goals.

From a coaching perspective, more disciplined defense. From a squad building perspective, more squad depth. And this team will be unstoppable.

Courtois has the height advantage like Van Der Saar back in the day. He's like an oak in goal and long shots are useless as we saw a couple of times today. Lamine's goal was a blueprint on how to deal with such GK.

Gonna be nice to work on this with the bag full of titles.
