What is going on with the rules of the game?

From what I thought was the law until today: if you stop a clear goal-scoring chance as LAST defender, it's a red and a free-kick outside the box, but a yellow and a pen inside the box

Has this rule changed?

no way could change mid-season, no idea how it was a red

It's a red inside the penalty box also if you don't show intent to play the ball.

Irrespective of Garnacho handball.

This challenge alone is never a red. Max a ref can give is pen and yellow
Anything is distortion of the spirit of the law
