Xavi Hernández

The issue with Xavi is that he's a bit tunnel vision with his signings.

Torres is a obvious waste of money, but there was a lot of hype around him at the time.

But players like raphinha, we probably only signed because he was deco's client.

He doesn't seem interested in having players with real athletism

Team looks absolutely dead. There's really nothing working right now... and not a single world-class forward to do the heavy lifting.

Transfer market needs to be a 10/10 to have any shot at trophies next season (which is highly unlikely to say the least).

Disagree strongly.

I've become indifferent to Xavi staying or leaving. He is nowhere near as bad as people make out. And the possible replacements mooted have been nothing short of laughable. But give me a strong rumour that we want someone like Thiago Motta to replace him and I would be all for it.

However, his signings and rumoured potential signings have been absolutely dreadful. We are genuinely fucked for years if they let him spend the money. He is too stuck in his tunnel vision view about football to be successful at buying players.

They are all of the same type. A type that top level football left behind a few years ago.

I agree, while not perfect I don't mind Xavi as a coach.

But keep him away from the transfers. Free agents on short-term contracts and cheap loans are ok (thankfully I don't think we'll be able to afford anything else than FAs and loans anyway despite stupid rumours; Tebas will actually do us a favor not letting to spend us, lol) but I prefer to keep the team as it is than waste more money on Xavi's handpicked signings.

Leave Pep alone. Nobody else needed a volcano erruption to stop him for making 3 CL - league doubles in a row.

Nobody else comes close to his level of domination between 2009 and 2011. Let me know when a team makes the champion of a top 2 league look like a 2nd division side in a CL final. Not once, but twice.

If we were in better shape financially, do you think Xavi would still be here???
Serious question.

Sounds like he could still very well be sacked at the end of the season.

Seems like he pissed the board off yesterday with his words.

BREAKING: Joan Laporta and a part of the board are angry with Xavi, following his words yesterday. People close to Laporta keep on telling him that Xavi cannot continue as coach next season.

BREAKING: Xavi's continuity is no longer 100% guaranteed, the coming days will be very decisive. This is the situation at the moment.

Not getting sacked for the historic defeats, but getting sacked for the defeatist language.

Catalans in a nutshell.
