SAF had longevity also, but he never become antiquated tactically, at least domestically

I said "few", not "no one".

Btw, SAF had a questionable record in UCL, before he started to learn the game, towards the later years of his career at United, so its more like he became better over time in that tournament.

You mean our squad with 36 year old Lewa, Raphinha, Ferran Torres and 16-year old Yamal in attack?

Delusional

Dude, what's up with you and reading comprehension?
I literally wrote that Lewa is the reason Madrid have the edge on us
Yamal is top, Raphian Ferran could be much better under a proper coach as shown many times

- in defence we are better: Araujo Kounde Christensen Cubarsi Balde >> Rudiger Militao Alaba Mendy and Carvahal
- in md prob on tie even though they have better DM : FDJ Pedri Gavi Gundo = Kroos Tchou Valverde Camavinga
- in attack they have the edge because of Lewa: Lewa Yamal Raphina Torres < Vinicius Rodrygo Belligham Brahim

Right.
The point is also what you mean by longevity. IT has to be more than years of coaching.
Mouringo has great longevity but is bypassed by football now

You're welcome
Ancelotti is dope as hell. Always rated him unlike el gato. Did have a moment of weakness yesterday where he said in response to the ref messing up that nacho goal should not have been disallowed then, which is absolute bollocks. But we all human after all.

Their defense actually holds up in high leverage games, while ours ships goals for fun to Girona. Part of that is Xavi and part of that is overhyped defenders who make too many schoolboy errors (like Araujo did v PSG).

Mourinho lasted about 10 years at the highest level, Ancelotti has done it for quite a bit longer.

I have SAF and Pep over Ancelotti though, because they are more consistent managers, but outside that, i'm not sure i have anyone else above him in the modern era.

There are many other good coaches, but they have their weaknesses too.

To be honest i think Ancelotti probably thought his days at coaching a top club were numbered when he went to Everton. He had started to get canned at clubs quite quickly and the level of club he was managing started to get worse.

Sacked at Napoli after replacing Sarri, did okay at Everton but no better than others that preceded him. He seems to have the right personality to manage big players though and there's no doubting his achievements.

I don't watch Bayern, but i really don't get why "everyone" there hates him so much.

He won what he was supposed to do domestically, and got to the quarter-final, narrow loss to RM.

It seems to me it wasn't the results, but for some reason the players and people at the top couldn't stand him.

Leading players themselves (including Robben Muller Neuer) spoke to Hoeness and Bayern hierarchy back then, and asked for a change
They couldn't stand the fact that their training sessions under Carlo involved so little work (tactical and otherwise)
They are used to coaches that do work in training

Skipped the match, didn't want to endure any stress from the inevitable. Yet I wake up the next day, check the scoreline, see 88' 91' Joselu , and still manage to feel bummed the fuck out.

it's like they're purposefully tortuing barca fans with these scripts, even if you dont watch the game

Well the top 3 of management is pretty hard to dispute, as these managers introduced truly revolutionary ways of playing and created juggernaut teams that dominated on all fronts.

Pep, Rinus Michels, Sacchi

Then there's like 10 or so names you can throw in the mix - SAF and Carlo fall in here. From what I've read and seen, other members of this 10 or so would be Shankly, Busby, Helenio Herrera, Cruyff, Clough, Lippi, Mourinho, Paisley.

Surprised you rate SAF this low, and its not just his time at United either, what he did with Aberdeen was really impressive.

Real Madrid winning 15 CL titles is crazy dawg.

It basically rules out the probability of any team even coming close to reaching them in our lifetimes.

Stunning.

Don't think so one bit. I think he simply wanted to keep himself busy while waiting for another big chance, unlike others that take time off.
