19 - Vitor Rawke

No excuse to not talk to him and freeze him out. League is over. Plenty of chances to give him some game time.

Xavi is just a garbage manager who can't stop making excuses about everything.
League isn’t over

We have to win second place for the super cup which would earn us millions in revenue

.@GxlDePaulinho: "Arda Güler rejected us and went to Madrid. Endrick rejected us and went to Madrid. Bergvall rejected us and went to Tottenham. A Chelsea random academy player rejected us and went to Anderlecht... While Vitor Roque rejects the others to fulfil his dream of playing for Barça."

The press say this but were any other clubs interested in him?

Chelsea made him an offer, Arsenal were interested but was shut down early by his agents. iirc Manu, PSG was in the "we are following you"

Again, Xavi has managerial issues but playing youngsters ahead of seniors isn't one of them. If Vitor shows something he will be used more frequently.
We can be judgmental of Xavi for a multitude of reasons, no need to invent new ones.

This club mannn

The Catalan giants and Athletico Paranaense have agreed a fee of €35 million (£30m/$38.4m) plus add-ons for the 18-year-old forward, GOAL understands. The fee could rise as high as €71m (£60m/$77m) in tota

The moment your manager needs to advocate for you you are probably finished for your coach and club. If he has one brain cell alive in his brain he will shut the fuck up and go out on a loan. What the hell did he think? That he will come to Barca as 19y old kid and have guaranteed playing time? The biggest problem here is that we have paid 40 mil for this guy.

To be fair he hasn’t gotten minutes since being sent off

Ferran has already failed as a 9, while Roque was actually decent when coming on as a 9. Shite versus Cadiz though.

It's senseless to put a failed project on at 9 versus a potential project there.

Anyways proof is in the pudding. Out vs PSG, lost the game versus Madrid and now lost big versus Girona.

Ferran at 9, on a free ride and done nothing, but 100% protected. But hey, atleast Xavi got to prove his point right. So that's the real W.

He hasn't. However, there must be a reason for that and I refuse to believe it's some kid of personal issue. In vast majority of cases it's about players attitude and players performance during training sessions. I simply can't believe that Xavi has some kind of personal issues with this kid. It would be mental!

2 goals in 280 mins, wasn't he out of position too. Yeah I think this means he deserves a little more time on the pitch.

Well that's a fair point. However, I can't understand why is a one year loan so unacceptable for this kid and his manager? It's not like he is a 25y old well established player. We are talking about a 19y old kid who desperately needs minutes on the pitch.

I don't get that tbh but it sounds like more has gone on behind the scenes.

Sounds like Roque made a big point to choose barca and since arriving and doing pretty well (statistically at least) he's basically been frozen out by Xavi. Probably feels insulted and that he needs to just put barca behind him or something.

Doesn't have to be as dramatic as all of this if Xavi can sit down and talk with the player, I fear he's too stubborn and emotional though

If we weren't in the fight for 2nd place... he'd probably have played more. But as we are... can't blame Xavi for not playing him if he's not ready. He played vs Cadiz from the start btw, and did nothing.

Maybe if he showed something vs Cadiz while Lewandowski was rested for PSG return leg... the manager would have trusted him more.

Too much is being made out of this and Roque's entourage and agent pressuring the manager is not good at all for his case.

He should work hard in training and be patient. His time will come. If he is not patient, and demands playing time right now regardless, loan is a good option for him.
