He struggles with stamina and injuries that's it, not with compact games, he lives for tight spaces.
.
Not sure what stressful and uncomfortable means.

Probably mean games that he has to fight for space (run, off ball movements). He needs to be eager to get the ball like this match.

apparently not being a goal down against PSG in Paris in the CL QF

that screams comfort

Means when you're up against a disciplined side that closes you down, blocks off lanes, pressures you on the ball. If you haven't noticed Pedri struggles to get a foothold in those types of games, you haven't been watching.

His lack of stamina and strength was pretty telling last night against the youngsters in the PSG midfield.

Looked absolutely dead on his feet quite early.

You know, I notice this a lot too. Dude gets tired very fast for someone as young as him. I am not sure why, is it because he played all those matches from 2020-2022?

To be fair it is 10 vs 11 (or 12) way too early so the midfield in general was in big disadvantage. Though no doubt that the lack of energy, agressiveness, strength are Pedri's weaknesses. Vitinha looks like several level above him and De Jong.

I don't know why we're attracted to players like him. I can't stand him. Total pussy. Currently, I'd take Fermin over him. If an offer of 50 million came in I'd sell asap.

He wasn't ready to start, but we had no choice, he was struggling for minute 10.

Would have been a sub if Roberto or Christensen were fit

But he still needs to work on his endurance.

Fermin will probably end up at Real Betis level long term.

Which is good, considering he was loaned out to Linares a year ago and deemed not good enough for B.

Pedri needs a year of full fitness and injury free to get back on track to his very very high ceiling.

This forum is loving old man Gundagan, but a decade ago would have discarded him with his injury record in his earlier years.

Copa del Rey early stage player. Offering absolutely nothing at the later stage of big competition, that is not his level. Back to barca starting XI and barca are back to mediocrity.

I thought before the game it would be better to start Fermin, play Gundo deeper alongside Frenkie to help in the build up and then bring on Pedri in 2nd half like we did in Paris. Probably wouldn't change much if we'd have to play a man down for 60 minutes though.

Also can't blame Xavi for starting three best available midfielders even if two of them were just coming back from injuries which was evident. We also missed AC and SR although not sure either of them would actually start over Pedri.

I think we all forgot how far Pedri was from full fitness based off of his excellent assist in Paris. In truth, that goal happening straight after the substitution completely killed PSG's onslaught and intensity.
