He said he wants stability for his family. Don't think he is after this circus of moving on loan to do what exactly? You don't change tactics mid season to accommodate Messi.
Papers need to sell. I wanted him for one season, but now when its over we can finally move on.

In before miami loan in january
MLS season starts in February so why the hell would they loan him out in January? It makes ZERO sense. Let's just accept the fact that his Barca career is over and move on.

The bigger question is what will he do beetween October and January since Inter Miami won't reach playoffs.

So he will play 2 games from November to January and some people think he will keep his form. PSG season ended a week ago and he will probably rest until the end or mid July. After that he will play in August, September and October and than again rest until January. In the next 7 months time he will play a half-competitive football for a maximum of 3 months. IMHO in the next Copa Messi will be a shadow of himself.

To get this straight, Messi made the right decision. However, people need to understand that his top level football career is over. Therefore, he won't be able to influence Argentina's game like he did before.

Great pay, ample business opportunities, all the pieces are there...

Deal makes sense for brand Messi.

No one outside of Saudi is going to watch their league, just as few outside the US will watch the MLS.

But the marketing and brand partnership opportunities inside the US market itself can establish alot of opportunities for Messi there, especially in the lead up to the World Cup.

Probably a calculated move that the Saudi will still be interested in Messi in 2026 if he fancied it, even if the amounts would be lesser.

Players usually go to these low tier soccer countries when they are finished, however you spin it its a horrible decision by him, should have stayed in Europe.

Yep, and after 20 years as a professional at the highest level who could begrudge him of that.

Likewise to Xavi previously, and Busquets, there must become a point where trying to stay at the highest level for a whole season becomes more than it is worth on a physical and mental level.

Yeah, for me personally, he should have waited, at the very least, the end of June for Barca's offer, which makes Messi's MLS decision suspicious imo as he is still one of the best players in the world right now. But, the man completed football and he more than deserves the right to choose where he wants to play. Wish him the very best.
