Greatest club team of the 21st century

Some great points, especially about the style of playing enabling teams to be more dominant. That said, every team has to be judged for their achievements, in their era. And some things like consistency and winning mentality transcend eras. The hard truth is that although exceptionally...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

@Maradona37 what's your opinion on AC Milan? Outstanding squad full of talent, some great UCL runs (filled with disappointments though). Domestically only one title too, which is kinda understandable vs. some strong Juventus teams, but if you look at the tables, Milan more often than not came...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Yeah winning in style is always the preferable option, but to be honest, I would have loved if we could have won an UCL between 2015/16 and 2018/19, even if we did not play the best football ever. Actually, if we had won in 2018/19 it would be a fitting example. Well, to be honest those teams...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Yeah I hate that 2020s Real and I think is one of the weakest teams in the list, but the motherf*ckers won 2 CLs in 3 years, beating some good teams in the process. Strictly based on achievements they should have been actually placed much higher, but their style of play puts them lower in my list.

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Yeah @Maradona37 put it nicely, the list is focusing on achievements, rather than style of play. Of course Pep's Barca was the more dominant team and played the better and more influential football. And I agree, 2013/14 Real Madrid probably was scarier than any of the threepeat versions, hell...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Good points, exactly. Also, regarding that Liverpool: are they really better than Ronaldinho's Barcelona, Carlo's early 2000s Milan or even the second spell of Carlo's Real ? Difficult question...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Agreed that the inclusion of Haaland changed their style for the worse, although it may have coincided with the aging of their star-players. Obviously the margin between these teams is small, we can argue all day about the achievements of each time (which I would gladly do  ), but I think...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

We can only comment on on-pitch results and real-life titles, no what-ifs. Whether we like it or not, no team other that Real went close to threepeating. The only thing preventing them getting the #1 position was a relatively underwhelming domestic performance. Also, excluding the obvious help...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Thanks man :) Thing with both those team is, they lacked consistency. If we are ranking single seasons, then Barca's 2014/15 and Bayern's 2012/13 rank almost to the top of the list. But Barca kinda failed in the UCL in 2015/16 and 2016/17. While Bayern, and this may be easy to forget, actually...

Greatest club team of the 21st century

Hey guys so I compiled a list of the best club teams of the the 21st century. All teams on the list needed some kind of European AND domestic success to be included. Furthermore, similar versions of the same team (Eg. 2008/09 and 20101/11 Barca) were omitted, in order to reward consistency...

Happiest moment ever as a Barça fan?

The whole 2009-2012 period. The single happiest moment probably belongs to the 2011 UCL final

2015 CL Final: Barca - Juve 3-1 !!!CAMPIONS!!!

Just looking at the stats alone, it is insane that some CR-trolls are saying that Neymar deserved the 2015 Ballon over Messi

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

I agree with the posts about the top 10 list, especially about being too much post-2000s centric. I only began to watch football around 2005 so I can't comment on past eras, though I do have some thoughts: -Number 4 may be too high for CR and everyone correctly pointed out that he became a...
