Yan Diomande

Would think RM be smart enough to minimizing risk of throwing away 140m on an old man. Doubt his age will have any significant effect on his career.

I remember listening to this guy in the early 90s. Diomande on the left, Vini on the right btw.

Old man is obviously exaggerated, but I don't know how it's handled in Spain. In Germany for example you need the consent of the person or their parents, if they're minor to do an age test. I remember it, because Moukoko's family refused this test back in the days.

When public doubts arose early in Moukoko's career, the family and his legal representation adamantly rejected demands for biological age testing (such as wrist X-rays). Under German law, individuals cannot be forced to undergo medical age testing if they possess fully valid, legally issued civil documents. The refusal was framed by his camp as a defense against unjust skepticism and discrimination rather than an admission of guilt.

I dont think his age has anything to with his performance, or not seeing game time.

Still early days
Well if he is 19 it's not that surprising he hasn't found his role. It would naturally take a few months of adapting.

Vini also had a long period to get settled, and he even had the luxury of adapting for Castilla at first.

Okay, I see your POV. A similar thing happened to Arda Guler, who had very few minutes when he joined at a young age.

The major difference is the transfer fee; that's a lot to spend, but it's still early days

He's starting to show why I didn't want them to get him. Vini is in rapid decline, and Diomande's performances are improving. One of the easiest decisions they could've made was letting Vini go to Arsenal (making it look like they didn't wanna increase his wage), cause he has looked lost for a while now, and I saw it frequently in pre-season (he can't even take on players), so I wonder how they didn't see that to make the decision, but everyone is seeing it now.

I don't think they'll get lots of buyers for Vini at a massive amount if they wanna sell later.

He is a LW too and it shows. Look at just how better he was on LW last night

It's a shame for him because Vini is on LW

Diomande's too rough as skills for a player worth 120m.

Could be the biggest fraud in football history, but hey Florentino and Jmose decided on him after a single game against Germany...

Wasn't he 140m?
Anyway, he isn't a fraud - but for now he sure as hell isn't close to being a 140, 120 or above 100m player. He should have stayed in Germany at least another season, maybe two - now he'll just be a fuckup in Madrid.
