Viktor Gyökeres

He's not perfect, but not as bad as some of you paint him to be - I think he would be a good 9 for us.

Will score less LaLiga goals than Jackson Martinez.

Probably more chance he ends up at Atleti as Slothes injury replacement actually.

You are right.

He's worse.

Have you watched him play for Arsenal?

Gyokeres plays football like he is carrying Lukaku on his back.
I've seen him play many games, both for Arsenal and Sweden - I honestly think he'd do well here.

There is simply better options. Gyokeres is a player who lacks a lot of the technical fundamentals and is not the most physical or capable in duels despite his build... but he understands the spaces well and is not that bad at finishing.

So, not the worst option. But I believe we can absolutely do better. Maybe the one thing that could make Flick go for Gyokeres is his workrate, but I doubt it.

Can be good to replace ferran.

But we still need a main stricker and he ain't it.
If we get Gyö (which I honestly don't think will happen) that'll be the end of shopping for a 9... we have so many players that can do a good job there already.
I'd lowball Arsenal, offer them 60m. If they take it, than I would put him on some serious agility training and slowly introduce him without having to high expectations from the start. He's a smart player, good passing and reading of the game - he's tough and powerful - and he scores some absolute bangers. Even with their haram-ball and in his first season, he still scored 14 goals - that's alright if you ask me.

He's a deadline day loan kind of move with a mon-obligatory buy option.

This year's Rashy basically.

If Arsenal want to get rid of him to get a proper striker in (for them) then yeah OK, as the Ferran Replacement.

Alot of movements will happen on the last days so I would watch this space. But surely not the starting option. He flopped too hard at Arsenal for that in the grand scheme of things.

He's only proven so far to be Porkchop, Championship and Man City off form level. Which are all about the same. And that's not something you can base off being our starting 9 pic.

If we did go that way, then he would end up being banged for a false 9 like Gordan just as happened in Arsenal with fookin Havertz.

Havertz!!!!!!!

HA VERTZ!

That dude is mid, Gyö would be a much better fit for us. But it doesn't really matter, Arsenal want to keep Havertz anyway.

Portuguese league tax + why is Arteta trying to sign Alvarez to replace him already then? :mou:
Gyö is underrated and Alvarez is overrated - this season will show exactly that.
But Arteta actually need a player with Alvarez profile, we don't imo. We need a bully up front, a bully with good reading of the game and positioning... but with good finishing. Gyö scores wherever he goes lately - Portugal, PL and Swedish NT - dude is consistent with his scoring. Alvarez is not, far from - and Gyö plays Arteta-antiball and for the Swedish NT.
Adeyami for 25m will do a better job for us than 150m Alvarez.

I’d take him on loan if assnal are willing to cover atleast 50% of his wages. He’d make a decent bench option.
