What a masterpiece of defense and midfield work against the strongest team. You can have technical and strong players, La Masia should scout better because Spain is like Barcelona but with muscles.
So when are we gonna give some credit to the manager who coaches Spain? The actual genius behind this team. Seems like people here hated him for basically no reason.

What an experience it will be for the boys if they win this thing.

"Hope Spain gets eliminated so they come back sooner" is nonsense.

There is just some confidence that being a WC winner, the most prestigious medal you can have in football, gives you.

If they win the WC, they can go for CL too. And they know this.
Completely irrelevant to the CL. Has nothing to do with it. Umtiti's career ended after winning the WC.

Messi was dominating club football when Argentina had some of their most disappointing campaigns ever.

Same with CR7 and countless others.

I mean, you don't see clubs from winning country immediately win CL afterwards, but trophies bring more trophic. Our players are gaining invaluable experience that will surely benefit us.

Whether CL or La liga, you need players who have win/done it all in your squad. Players with the experience to be calm in high stake games, and know how to step up.

Barca early success had players like R10 & Edmilson (World Cup winners), Deco (CL winner), Eto (2 times AFCON winner and gold medalist, who won CDR with Mallorca). Then we had players who had the experience to win CL that helped us later, along players who also won big with Spain. It became a successful cycle until it was broken around Covid, when we barely had players to learn at take the torch from the old guards.

If Spain wins the WC, this will surely be beneficial to Barca.
Trophies could help, but I would say it's the least of the factors that could help contribute.

For Real Madrid for example, you have Mbappe (WC Winner and one of the best WC Players in history) alongside multiple CL winners like Vini, but Real Madrid are getting further from winning the CLthan before.

I wouldn't say no reason, but he did make some questionable calls in the Euros 2024 and Nations League 2025.

But credit to him for this World Cup, I think he's doing a fantastic job.

Real gained Mbappe at the same time they lost both Kroos and Modric, both who are bigger winners and more experienced than Kylian. If anything those two, along Benzema when he was there, showed the importance of having such experiences.

For the scenario mentioned, it's more to do with RM not replacing the likes of Kroos and Modrid for player profile (deep lying playmaker) adequately which is still more important than experience.

Based on that, you wouldn't think that PSG, who didn't have much experience winning the CL or international trophies, would win the CL back in 24/25. Or vice versa, Argentina will all their experience can't beat Chile in 2 Copa Americas.

Experience helps, but there's more important factors that come into play such as tactics, form, team chemistry, player profile and etc. that goes a long way.

I am saying these players will get experience and confidence if they achieve such a feat.

These are the things that are very relevant in CL. I did not say winning WC means you will win the CL.

The insane fact that I found out around 2-3 days ago, is that since 2006, Spain has lost only 1 game in the knockout rounds of any major competition. The game was Italy 2-0 Spain, Euro 2016 round of 16. Since 2006, Spain’s record was -

Euro 2008 - Champions, 2nd title
2010 World Cup - Champions, 1st title
Euro 2012 - Champions, 3rd title
2014 World Cup - group stages, 3rd place, 1-0-2
Euro 2016 - round of 16, 0-2
2018 World Cup - round of 16, 1-1 (3-4p)
Euro 2020 - semi finals, 1-1 (2-4p)
2022 World Cup - round of 16, 1-1 (0-3p)
Euro 2024 - Champions, 4th title

Greater footballing nation than France regardless of what happens on Sunday.

He lost also to Portugal last year :pique:

Never understood the hate he got, his team not only wins but also plays by far the most beautiful football since 2-3 years. WIth a proper attack Spain would have killed France and Argentina. Its a pity he is already 65 years old, could have imagined him as Barca coach after Hansi decides to leave in a few years.

De la Fuente knows what he'd doing, there will be noone to doubt him now.

Simon was doubted, CB duo formed with recently returnee from Arabia and a kid. Cucu the clown. Rodri looked washed after his injury. Olmo not even appreciated with Barca fans. Baena who. Sociedad CF with 6 goals in the league.
Pedri and Yamal who were supposed to carry the team weren't even there.

Great coaching. :tiphat:

Today is 21st July 2026. 4 years from now, the 2030 FIFA World Cup final will be played at what likely is going to be the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. I’m going to say it from now, Spain will win their 3rd World Cup at home. 4 years from now.

I won't be so bold because 4 years in a long time.

But all things being equal they will make the SF at least.

Will make mi prediction 3.5 years from this lol
