Ronald Araújo (loaned to Liverpool)

There were reports Liverpool has to cover 11 mil net when we loaned him. Knowing how generous our club is and how we extended him when there was outside interest and pressure that seems believable to me.

He'll have to do really well for any club to pay 55 mil fee + 22 mil gross salary yearly. Hope he does but probably we'll take a hit on the fee to get rid of the wage.
If their is a club that can afford that its a Top 6 EPL club. And fortunately, he's already in one of them.

Just need to be decent, and they will buy him.

He's not on 22m gross, where are people getting these numbers from?
The only somewhat credible source says he has a €14.3 million gross salary (including bonuses), but for some reason he keeps pushing the narrative that he makes €22 million. Last season, he made €16 million including bonuses.

Fabrizio said his wage is 11 million net. That is where he is getting 22 mill gross, it would be around 20-22 mill.

If the referenced source for 14 mill is Capology, who get our players salaries egregiously wrong pretty much every time, and probably don't have any information, their estimate is probably just a guess.

0% chance he was making 11m net.

Football really needs to get to where American sports are as it relates to wages. Just make them public. Everything else is public.

No other source has confirmed it that he has 11 million net. There’s fucking no way we gave him that much, regardless of the fact that we pay everyone well, and Liverpool definitely isn’t going to give him that kind of money.

And ofc no one has the official figures, but Capology obviously gets its information from somewhere, so they’re probably close.

It's not obvious at all. They have no credentials, no public disclosure of their methodology, and no proven links to any insiders. The founder is a random tech guy from the US who has never been involved in football.

As far as we are concerned, the only thing they are is literally a website with numbers. Anyone can make that.

If they had actual links to journalists and clubs, don't you think they would be saying and proving it, to give legitimacy to their company?

It is most likely a few guys making educated guesses about wages, perhaps using financial modelling, but with no actual information.

On the other hand, Fabrizio, even whilst not being a pristine source (nobody in football is) clearly does have links to top agents/players/clubs and some information.

If it is a choice between Fabrizio and a random website, whatever we think of Fabrizio, he at least has some proof of being involved in the game.

Whilst 11m net sounds irregular, it was reported when Deco last renewed Araujo that he had become one of the highest earners in the team.

You can think whatever you want about Fabrizio but can't deny he's the best connected guy with the best sources, Araujo's renewal came when Juve was after him and he had all the leverage so he could pressure the club for that wage, Barca is infamous for giving huge undeserved wages...It all checkes out but some people don't want to face the ugly truth, they prefer to lie to themselves so they don't have to criticise anything related to the club. We all know who I'm talking about here.

Wish I could watch Pool to see how he's doing

But watching a PL game is torture. Only Chelsea-Hull is interesting because Chels is losing so they have to attack

If they are going to play him as a pure RB instead of shifting him to the center to form a back 3 as the LB bombs forward, it probably won't be the best solution for them long term.

But it's working so far

Araujo finds himself in comfort playing in the chaotic headless chicken football style of England.

The low IQ football suits him as we all know.
