There is a clear reason Hazard struggled to dribble past players in La Liga. Most of his Chelsea dribbles were either in transition/in his own half, with opponents in motion and lunging at him. Once he lost his acceleration, he could not break compact LL defenses. Hazard's best seasons at Chelsea came under counter-attacking managers:

Which scenario would improve us the most?

150 mil euros for Alvarez or

160-170 mil euros for Osimhen and Rodri combined (at the most)

The club tried a few times to get rid of Frenkie, but he wouldn't leave. Next to impossible even without the injuries.

That's probably the only case you can't really fault the club for not trying.
 
Didn't try hard enough I guess. We are probably too nice. Go to the player, tell him we are looking for a different profile and he is free to leave or sit on the stands from here on. I doubt at 29 he wouldn't consider playing elsewhere then.

He is a footballer on weekly trips, who cares where his family lives. Got at most 4 more years in him anyway. Our sporting department, Pep, his Spain Barca teammates should all be enough to convince him that our sporting project suits him more than Mourinho's incoming shit-on-a-stick ball where he will be asked to break Lamine's legs then if he refused get into arguments with Mourinho.

Nah, not when Real wants him as well. Meaning we would have to convince him with more money... 70m to City and a fat salary for him (even more than the already fat contract Real will offer)? Yeah, I don't see it. And then you consider his injuries and age. The back surgery. Not easy business at all.

I would stay away unless the Real move collapses and even then you have to aks yourself why.

Osmihen himself is a much better option than Alvarez who has not been impressive at all since City. Adding Rodri, this question is a no brainer

Different story of course if Rodri is just looking for a last big paycheck with not primarily football in mind. Which is also possible, given that he won everything already.

His injury and age doesn't bother me, Frenkie is in the exact same boat.

Wages usually cost more than transfer fees, that's the main issue.

Osimhen is likely to demand more than Lamine without being anywhere near him as a player or even as a big name. Those two might cost twice the wage Alvarez gets.

Also, Barca has continually refused to pay 150M for Alvarez.
 
Unpopular opinion: I don't think we should go for him at all. There are too many red flags. Age, injuries, club season... the salary will be insane.

But it's the usual media tactics anyways. He's set on Madrid.
