All the Championship clubs spent big to try and stay up.

If any go down they are fooked. Even with the parachute payments.

Who tf outside of England wastes their evening watching Ipswich, Luton, Hull etc
TV revenue is negotiated collectively. The worst team in the league gets about 60% of the revenue of the top team. In La Liga it's about 30%.

I know how the money is distributed, i was genuinely asking who the hell watches these teams..

The English are so proud how they distribute TV money equally between clubs in EPL but when you put that on an European scale they are perfectly ok with them getting a shitload more of TV money compared to anyone else. The Premier League is the Madrid&Barca of Europe but I don't expect them to get how hypocrit that is.

"distributing revenue under any circumstances is hypocritical unless you're an international communist"

Where does this revenue comes from anyway? Do media companies overpay PL for product that nobody cares about (Ipswitch vs Luton)?

Then let's hope that they also have the same fate.

Not gonna happen. These are clubs owned by billionaires. Besides, the fact that they don't have actual superstars, their wage structure is lower than what you see at Madrid, Barca, PSG etc.

I don't know if it's just me but Premier League is losing it's appeal rapidly in recent years. Everything is sterile, every club, stadium, fans are the same, everybody talks only about absurd prices which don't contribute to better football. There are no homegrown players, let alone legends who stay at the club for their entire life like it was, fans and atmosphere are worse every year, stadiums are generic bowls which all look the same instead of Highburys and Boleyn Grounds, there are less and less English players, managers, coaches, directors and owners. There is no specific playstyle. They sell their academy players to have more money for foreigners. They never had the top of the top players but at least they had top managers like Klopp, Mou, Pep, SAF, Wenger but now they don't even have those, the current batch of managers is awful, Emery is the best by far. It's becoming to look and feel like NBA which isn't surprising since they sold their clubs and soul to Americans and arabs.

There is just 1 star player in Haaland, there is no team in the league that plays exciting football, managers are basically nobodies

PL definitely fell off, the main reason it's not so significant is because they are still the best. Mostly because La Liga clubs can't spend for shit. Only Barca, Madrid, Atleti and Deportivo that's owned by a bank. Otherwise this would be great opportunity to bring La Liga back to the top especially considering the big 3 are very strong now. But the midtable sides are just absolute shit

Spain doesn't need the financial power the English need. England will continue their finanical dominance for decades but won't dominate the sport. It would be enough to let Spanish clubs have enough money so the clubs can keep their homegrown players and buy some cheap South American talents. That worked in the 00s and 10s when they dominated the sport.

But Tebas says no and the whole league agrees with him.

TV deals. The gap between Premier League and La Liga viewership is gigantic.
Yeah, but who the fuck pay hundreds of millions for rights to broadcast Ipswith Town vs Luton? Seems a bit shady. Wonder why Betis vs Villareal, much better and more entertaining teams can't generate such interest from broadcasters.
