Analyst are below, and dependent, on the SD.
Richard Hughes has been the SD since summer of 2024, after Jurgen left.
He has done a terrible job in 5 (summer and winter) transfer windows.
And I am not referring to the big money spent on Isak, Wirtz, and now Barcola. That might actually be the only correct things he did, as I think all of them might come out good at the end in the right environment. I am referring to his inability to address glaring holes in Liverpool's squad, like DM who has been vacant since Fabinho left, and bad recruitment in other positions with the likes of Kerkez Frimpong Mamardasvili and others, who are all below par for the standards required.
When Edwards was the SD (until 2021 or so) you would never see that. They also had misses back then (like Keita), but they were drops in the ocean of stellar recruitment. (Yes, I know Edwards hired Hughes at Pool after he returned, but they are not the same person, and have to be judged separately).
Last but not least, Hughes has agreed a deal to become the SD of Al Hilal since last winter. Yet, he continues to work as Liverpool's SD this summer, while 'overseeing' tranfer business of Al Hilal from distance before he officially joins. Isn't this a conspicuous conflict of interest?
How do FSG allow that?

Reality is the domestic market has inflated incredibly. So basically there is no difference between a 10m sale and a 100m sale if everyone is part of the merry go round and balancing their income/expenditure to minimise their tax liabilities.
City buying Illiman Ndiaye today for 70m pounds. Crackingly entertaining player but had doubts he would be as impactful at tier 1.
All these deals though make our Gordan early move look inspired and our Rodri deal looks great.
They also make Diomande look a bit shite too

De Zerbi is a fan of Mudryk from their time at Shakhtar but he will likely be gone before end of the season so they'll never use that buy option.
They will also have a firesale next year if after investing so much they won't qualify for Europe and players like Porro or VDV could potentially be available.

I feel sorry for Arsenal fans.
Their club has have good players and plenty of money yet it is impossible to enjoy the team play because of Arteta's abysmal and cowardly tactics.
Trophies are good at the end of the day but it's not sustainable to watch your team play like thiat for 9 months every season.

Too much money in that league. Seems the clubs dont know what to do with it.
They need some financial restraints, or else we'll see Araujo going for 200m soon enough if he were playing in a PL team.
