Ousmane Dembélé

The 1v1 miss was good old Dembouz coming to surface again. Other than that, a good game. The goal from open play was class. Neuer didn't expect it.

Yes, unfortunate situation that we couldn't keep him and basically lost him just when he was starting to improve a lot and deliver on his initial promise.

He played well under Xavi but would have needed a top coach to get best out of him.

Shame as Koeman had him at CF and it worked.. then pulled back from it too quickly.

A bit of reductionism at play. Lot of people were also crying about his availability and expected him to get injured at evey occasion.

Yes, this is the main risk when signing talents at a very raw age for a boatload of money. You can have immaturity problems, adaptation problems, injuries due to the player not being professional enough and all that.

Dembele always had rare qualities, and when he finally matured... he delivers the goods.

I feel we got him too soon when he was still a stupid boy. Later, we didn't have the funds and especially the belief in his potential to be a top 5 player, in order to extend him in 2023 for what he and his agent wanted in terms of financial package.

Folk also made out his level as a player was not great it was much more than just injury record.

Xavi rated him and did well under Xavi but the club fucked it by too much yapping.

One saving grace is the Dembele transfer probably embarrases Real/Mbappe more than Barca.

Dembele haters in the mud.

Every reason for a Barca fan to dislike the player that barely played here while being signed for over 100 mil. Also after player admitting he didn't take care of himself here and thus brought on some of those injuries on himself. Also left the club after practically being begged to stay by his manager.

You are scraping the bottom of the barrel with your baiting but falls right into your m.o.

He left as the board fucked him about when was due to renew without a clause.

The decision to move and receive a ton more money while winning balondor and at least one CL has proven to be correct one.

As said its not just the injuries either. Folk are deluding themselves if claim that was only issue had with him.

Most here said he was shit regardless of injuries and criticised his level as not being good enough. During his last seasons here only about 4 or 5 of us were saying he was a world class talent.

Honestly feel like part of that was hangover from Messi and co and thinking players like Dembele weren't 'Barca style'. Lots of people here said he was too dumb, couldn't shoot etc.

Not when he was about to sign a new contract.

After that the club bumped gums and left him in position of power.

The club could have offered him improved contract to stay also and never did. After he signed relatively low contract with the clause in it.

If he has always wanted to leave regardless would have walked in summer of 2022 for free as PSG wanted him then also.
