That will be probably his last big game. I still remember when he made his debut for Barca. Great guy but injuries killed a lot of his career. Ciao Ney.

I mean he reached his prime and destroyed opponents with ease. In that sense he reached his ceiling.
Longevity wise is different question. Even if he had some monstrous seasons at PSG the best option would probably been to stay, but I suspect complacency would've killed his career anyway.
 
His legs are done. Should have been Joao Pedro in place of him. Once he came on, Brazil played worse. They were the better team until then. Since he didn’t press, Vini started to do the same thing.

Doesn’t matter. Whenever they touched, they were dangerous on the counter, on the wings and even pressing wise. He came on, slowed the game, his pressing was invisible and he affected Vini’s mentality right there and then. Brazil had brilliant chances before Ney came all because of great counter-attacking and counter-pressing at times. They don’t have the midfield to play possession football.

That's true, he really screwed a bit the counters, but more as potential, though I would suggest dropping Endrick as winger and some personal mistakes by Vini contributed to that.
But my point is letting Norway have possession was suicidal, it was obvious to me after 10 min, they were saved by Nusa and Odegard low IQ big time in my opinion and Sorloth not playing second striker, because Håland was toying with their line the whole game. Once Bob and Schjelderup came the link-up clicked.
So for me their whole counter-attacking strategy is absolute nonsense because Endrick who would have been the best was used like 5 min before, Raphinha is injured and got disrespected.
I would have preferred Carlo not using Endrick and Neymar. A man should die on his hill to the end, and I really enjoyed his fuck-up

Yes, he wasn't a robinho, he was closer to ronaldinho. You did for the most part see his peak and that he wasn't a fraud or anything... he just wasn't able to stay there. Though his fall off still wasn't as bad as ronaldinho's.

Yo, there is a little chance we wont see a brazilian player on peak Ney lvl for next 50 years. His best chance to win WC was in 2018, he was in terrific form and did very very well but lost to Belgium. Unfortunately, as you said he had to play with bums
