Neymar

Not talked about nearly enough but Brasil had their worst WC qualifying in history under Ancelotti - they lacked any fluidity, goals or imagination/creativity. They qualified due to the expanded format, else they would've been out (And then he is extended by Brasil  )

Neymar probably has a goal in him if they are chasing a result late but he is not a starter but a parlor trick in times of desperation, of which there will be plenty under Ancelotti

The same was said in 2002 and they did very well, didn't they?

Ancelotti joined at the end of the qualification. "Worst" ever? He played 4 games in the Qualifications, draw one, won next two and lost a meaningless last game when they played their C team and facing a Bolivian team who needed the win. Had they won they would have finished second in the qualification.

It isn't talked enough because it is false. The new format allowed teams to take it easy, and Ancelotti joined at the very end, that those games were essentially friendlies for him.

Imagine you're a rising star in your country, playing in the strongest league in the world, working every day to achieve the dream of getting called up to your national team for the WC, only to be told your spot is taken by a half invalide, part time counter-strike player, who buried his sporting ambitions with 31 years of age to earn money in the desert and is more injured than being fit ever since.

You fairly speak some nonsense.

Above is the latest example.

Ancelotti has been in Brazil job for x4 qualifiers.

They drew away in Ecuador in first.. a good result and then qualified by beating Paraguay in the next.

28 pts from Brasil under Ancelotti, worst in their history of qualifying for WC - they would’ve failed to qualify based on old format, only in due to expansion to 6 teams

2nd worst qualifying, 2002 with 30 pts

Again, Ancelotti played only four games. So no,this wasn't under Ancelotti.

And he would have finished second if he played his best team in the last game. He played with an awful XI that game.

Of which maybe 1 looked decent offensively, they are more consistent & solid organized defensively but still haven’t anymore a clue offensively as he did at RM. They are toothless and uninspired, it was not convincing else Neymar wouldn’t be called in for goals over younger and frankly higher rated players who are committed to pressing and being part of collective - it’s a parlor trick for the base, at worst and maybe just maybe his potential goal can get them out of a tight match

However, those dreams died long ago when Neymar stopped being relevant - it’s a nothing addition and Brasil cannot be considered as legitimate contenders for WC2026 despite the relatively easy group. Morocco to start will be toughest match, with underdogs Haiti to follow and Scotland could be for 2nd place in group

Brazilian humiliation incoming.

Tbf the whole WC seems destined for a shitshow. Who the fuck wakes up at 3 in the morning to watch Iran vs New Zealand?

Malvolio special

It's a WORLD cup dude

And TIME ZONES exist

That happens in every world cup

Every player and probably every person in Brazil wants him to go to the WC. There are 26 players on the roster and there can be one just for morale.

Wouldnt be surprised if Ancelotti thinks he could try a bit of the Messi with Argentina approach and include Neymar.

Not that he is anywhere close to Messi but the older star that platers grew up idolising and will do the running for.

Brazil squad is not as bad as a lot make out.

Probably do lack full backs though.

Is he good for morale though? He's a party animal and alcoholic by the looks of his face. The reason why he quit football and gets injured all the time.
