In terms of pure acting Jessica Chastian is probably the best actress I've ever seen.

In terms of whole package I can't believe Michelle Pfeiffer hasn't been mentioned. First celeb crush I ever had. Thought she was utterly mesmerising.

Meryl is way too low and Julia is a bit too high.

Yeah...personal, subjective, spontaneous, spur of the moment but sometimes it works best.
I omitted Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges, Harvey Keitel, Dustin Hoffman, John Voight and his daughter , Richard Gere...Natalie Portman, Benicio del Toro....
Maybe in a month the lists will look different but more at the bottom than the top.

It don't matter as much.
I was never allured to a movie because this or that actress was in it.
Although, Black Swan without Natalie P or Alien(s) without S.W. couldn't be as good.
