I agree. If we go all out on Alvarez and Bastoni we won't have a dime to spare. There is no way we'll be able to sign another winger.

Another loan, so if Raphinha gets injured again next season just before a crucial quarter or semi finals we are back to square one with Rashford again? The cycle continues.

Hard pass. He has scored 6 goals in all comps in 2026. In the most important game of the season where Raphinha was injured, Flick chose Fermin on the left.
I don't think we need to pay so much in wages for someone who scores 6 goals in 5 months and doesn't get the trust of the manager even with Raphinha injured. Any other random cheap winger can do the same.

Again, we have to be realistic. Raphinha and Yamal are two of the best wingers, Yamal is fucking amazing. We need some luck for them to stay healthy, but we can increase that luck with rotations - Rashy is decent and if we get Silva he'll be decent. Not like we can buy two WC wingers for cheap who'll be satisfied with being backup and jump straight in when one of Yama or Raph gets injured and do a great job - that's some naive FM thinking. We Rashy did alright, he had dips - Raph and Yamal also had them. Get us Silva and Flick can rotate more and pick the players with best form. Hell, I'm not impressed by Rashy - but he did have an alright G/A and he might take another step.

He also provided assists and opened up defenses - with a better 9 that could capitalize he would have more assists. Get us a decent 9 before we look into LW backup.

Cant be paying 30m for a player over two seasons and them then not an asset.
Too much money has been spent on players Barca have no value on at end of contract or releasing FFP through renewals.

This may come as a shock to you, but players cost money... Most players are not "assets" my dude, you spend money to play quality ball and fans pay their wages/fees. Another loan makes total sense, no fees - than next season if he'll be at least as good as this season we sign him on a 2-3 year contract with a lower wage.

He only assisted once in 2026 against Slavia Prague.
He started somewhat strong but majority of his output came between September 25 - November 25 in a 2 month period where he had 7 assists and now he lives off of that reputation for no reason.
In 2026 he has 6 goals, 1 assist in 5 months. In Flick's system any random Real Oviedo winger will match that output. No idea why we waste time with him unless he costs 5 million fee and slightly above Roony level wages.

Never said he was ideal, but he did better than I thought he would. We’re not in a position to swap half of our team, some think this is FM. Rashy was decent, Raphinha is our starting LW - let’s focus on a 9, RW backup and RB/CB.

Exactly, we shouldn't get him because this isn't FM. When we are already on a very limited budget, how are we going to get Rashford's entire package (fee + salary) and then also buy a striker and a CB on top? We could barely register Joan this season and needed ter Stegen to remain injured. Don't see how we spend on Rashford and then some more.

Compared to those who have been mentioned as alternative targets (Abde, Virgili) I prefer him purely based on ability. I would also mention that, being his first season in Spain, playing for a team like Barcelona, after spending his whole career in the Prem with a dysfunctional team, I think he has room for improvement and adaptation.
He has slowed down in the second half of the season. But I feel a manager like Flick can get the best out of him and he'll improve on his numbers if we were to take him on again.
However, United have good reason not to negotiate on the fee. His performances here and at Aston Villa will be more than enough to justify another club buying him for 30m, they will probably have other clubs interested in paying this. They would probably be fine with letting him return and then assessing the situation, with Amorim having left, they might consider reintegrating him, or they would find a club to sell him to.
To make this happen we need him to take another wage cut. It was initially reported we are covering a base salary of 14m gross before bonuses. Although it's still less than the salaries of Frenkie, Yamal, Lewa, Kounde and Raphinha, it is too much for his proposed role in the squad.
Ferran receives around 12m gross, with a similar role in the team, and he was signed to be a key player. Rashford shouldn't be on more than 10m gross, but preferably, it should actually be lower. That will require him to take a minimum 25% paycut though and he's still got 2 years of contract left with United.
We could incentivise him more with bonuses and a lower fixed salary, as the current wage structure is moving towards with other players.

He is not. He is gonna be shipped back to United. As said above, Flick preferred to play Fermin LW than use Rashford when it was crunch time moment. Flick doesn't rate him. He gave him his shot, and he probably didn't work hard enough to be able to convince the manager.

Very glad Flick made it clear what he thinks about keeping him with benching thim bum even when both Yamal and Raphinha are injured.
Hope Deco doesn't force him to accept him for another season because he's not capable to get anybody else and United probably isn't capable of getting rid of Rashford so for the amatuers on both sides it makes sense to extend it. Flick deserves a winger that will actually play when Yamal and/or Rapha get injured.

Even if we don't there is no sense in extending Rashford after Flick showed he'll play midfielders on the wing instead of him even when both our starting wingers are injured. We can get a cheap winger on a similar level for a fraction of the cost anyway, someone like Roony, maybe Bisiwu who could also do a similar job even if he's still raw. For someone more expensive I like the Godts links and we have that Ajax connection with Jordi Cruyff there, hope Laporta didn't burn bridges with him too. Even someone like him would probably be cheaper than another loan for the English bum, let alone buying the turd. There are hundreds of options on a similar level who won't be so lazy for a lost less money anyway.

Can't see especially the latter one happening though. If Rashford returns to ManU after this season and the club qualifies for CL (which is very likely right now), his basic wages will go up a hefty 25%!
