Marcus Rashford

Wish him well. Barça took him when his stock was down and paid his wages. He got to wear the club's badge, won the Spanish League. As for his replacement (Gordon), we'll see if it works out, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's sold back to an EPL club within a couple of years.

He paid for the fiasco vs AM in CL. That was the exact scenario we brought him for and he sucked.

It's unfortunate... because he likes the club a lot, but Flick ball is built on intensity and workrate and he doesn't have either.

United shouldn't be too upset. If anything, we elevated Rashford's rating so they can now have more potential buyers.

We're not broke this summer if we can sign a 100m player. The problem here is, with the arrival of Gordon, Rashford's position and his complete package fee + salary isn't good enough to invest in. barca still would keep him as a depth player, but only on acceptable terms. Now it's on United and him to decide. Very well played by the club, after Gordon we're in the driving seat of this transfer. If United refuses, we won't cry.
More or less agree with this, at least until it maybe turns out Gordon is a flopp...

I'm pretty sure Hansi saved us from him, it was obvious in April. Rashford can only blame himself. He has the quality to be our backup winger but he didn't give a shit, spent the season walking in defense and carrying himself like he's Mbappe thinking a few crosses and goals will be enough. Not with Herr Flick you lazy bastard, back to the shithole called United with you!

We are still not 100% save from him. I could see Deco going back for him and Flick agreeing if there is no other choice but I'm sure he'll play even less then last season with Gordon in the team.

Good we moved on from him. I said it from the day we got him we better not buy him permanently. The fact Hansi played Gavi and Fermin as LW end of the season showed Hansi doesn’t rate this fella at all.

Bayern wasnt willing to pay his buyout, because of his salary.

This will be the case with most clubs except EPL ones. And there is a high chance Rashy would be adamant that he joins us. In the end the call is in ManYoos court, do they want to get rid of his wages with some money coming back or they want to pay his wages while he sulks on the bench. Carrick might change this, but I highly doubt after so many years, and him tasting the weather in Barcelona he would want that.

Also, with how Silva thing is going, it looks unlikely we'll get him. And Roony will leave on a loan.
There is plenty of space for Rashy in the squad. I would gladly have him.

Would also make our frontline one of the most stacked ones in the business. Just add a ST like Osimhen to it, and we will have every type of tool/key to open a lock.

Why on earth would we keep him? Wake up.. we sent him back to Manchester thank god.
Because he had many good games, many good crosses/assists, surprises with his speed sometimes - still isn't great at finishing his chances or pressing. Like many have said, his wage is a problem and paying 30ish mill on top of that is kind of expensive for his role and quality.
Anyway, it all depends on who we'll sign as 9 and how Gordon performs - if we want to play Gordon mostly at 9 because we can't get a 9 than Rashford staying on loan another season isn't the worst if ideas. It also depends who we get that can cover RW if Yamal gets injured...

I don’t remember the “many” good games he had. I can’t even mention 5 good games he had let alone “many”. All I saw was a player who can’t dribble for his life, has a very bad work rate and is even a worse finisher. Barca aint stupid.

On top of that he shat his pants when it mattered most.

I was his biggest promoter here before coming, but I am fine now with the club not purchasing him.

He did not really evolve under Hansi, especially in terms of his defensive work/pressing.
This is a NO GO in Hansi's football. You can't play for this man if you are not working your ass off the ball

That is exactly the reason we don't want him except as a luxury low cost option. I don't care how good you think you are, you surely are not good enough for preferrential star tratament at Barcelona.

Totally the wrong fit.

Flick liked him and he provided a lot.

At 29 cant be paying a fee and putting him on big wages though.

Cant really sign him for 5 years and then 3 years the amortized/salary cost is too high if pay 30m and big wages.
