What a player deco was .. unique profile . Work ethic, dribbling , shooting , passing, flair, elegance. He was a complete midfielder

Also a drunkard who had to be told to get the feck out. He had a career that lasted 5 years basically. But... Lo and behold. Because he was signed by Laporta and he "trusts" him (to make backhand deals) he is now here being reckless with club member's money. More we overpay, more commissions for agents and more juice to be syphoned back to himself and his fat friend.
A mongoloid who never anywhere got one great deal for Barca.
Could be replaced in an instant with vastly superior director if they picked anyone from middle management from any of the bigger companies in Barcelona.

Yes .. I know his negative side.. but he is a Brazilian so we all know how they end up. What I meant was prime deco (porto + first years at barca) he was an outstanding player.. i do remember his last days.. I read in 2008 that after the second leg vs united and the elimination he returned separately from the team.. I think based on that alone (or perhaps more) Pep already made up his mind about selling him to chealsea that 2008 summer. (Infamous exodus : ronaldinho, deco , eto'o)
He was a terrific midfielder in his prime.
He was great for few of those season, I agree. He had both tenacity and creativity. A complete midfielder in those days. Maybe even more influential than Xavi (who was in his mid 20s then).

Whatever his playing career, which we cherish, when was at his peak, he definitely isn't a shrewd operator as an SD and is only there due to Fatportization of the Barca institutions. It's the usual nepotism, where friends of friends get hired, not the shrewd and efficient Germanic (before jewish subversion) system, where only the best ones rule aka meritocracy. It's also the rule for most southernmost countries, who are balls deep into corruption and degeneracy. Spain is great for it's cultural past, but is one of the most cucked and decadent nations in Europe inside due to being so long under muslim/jew rule and never recovered from it. Reconquista was only temporarily.
If Barca wants shrewd operators, they should hire elsewhere, but that wont happen under nepotist Laporta. I'm not as hateful towards the fat guy as some other posters here, think he has his own jig that has actually been very useful for Barca's success, but he also has his shortcomings.

I think it's easy to give Deco and Laporta a bunch of shit. People forget they took over an absolute disaster and have had to work with absolutely bare minimum resources. Had to use levers, while managing the stadium reno and a bunch of players on HUGE salaries. Given the circumstances, they have done pretty well. Flick winning us titles while getting no new players other than Olmo was incredible. We've also improved a bit in the CL and play attractive footy again.
They aren't perfect, and whether or not it's mostly Laporta/Flick and Deco is useless, who knows. Deco could be shit and those two are carrying him. If that's the case though, it's on Laporta to replace him and he seems happy with Deco I guess. My main critique would be not selling fringe players or La Masia players for enough money or on more favorable terms.
People bitching about this window still is kind of wild. I've had reservations about how things have gone, but we've only JUST gotten over the damage done by Barto and crew, and we still aren't fully recovered. They pulled off a great window while taking out some of the trash. Not sure how much more you want, realistically. A CB and striker would be great, even a defensive FB too since Kounde sucks...but you can't have it all, friends.
