Makes no sense to be after this guy unless he is some once in a generation talent in defense. Because we need someone with some experience in big games to organize our youngsters and the defensive airhead that is Cancelo.

How is a 19 year old gonna do that?

I would use our influence to tell him that he is on our radar for the near future, but would not spend big money on him right now.

I tend to agree we need someone with experience but Vuskovic really is a big talent.
 
Not sure of the argument that need experienced CB in order to organise the line.

It wasnt much better if at all when Inigo there.

Also there is no defender in the world that will know what Flick wants more than likes of Cubarsi either.

More experienced for cool head under pressure but not so much to come in and run a line they have never played before.
 
tbf, If the goal is CL title, then it has historically favoured teams with at least one experienced CB, who is 27+ years of age. Regardless of why is that.
2 CB who are 20 years of age, I don't think it has ever happened in my life time. Probably not two who were both U25 either.
 
It is more about the profile of the players than their age.

There is not many CBs that have won two top league titles and a international as a teenager.

Not many teams had won a Euros led by a 16 year old either.

Sticking to norms as its way always been done is not way to go. Jude players on their own merits at that time.

Van de Ven has lead his team to consecutive 17th place finishes in the league, barely avoiding relegation. He wouldn't be an improvement in any way to our current CBs.
 
He would be starter in croatia wc squad. So, if we are in for him deco should have in mind that if croatia goes far in wc, that means that his price would skyrocket, similar to gvardiol.
Kid was on loan in hsv and scored free kick ffs, take from that what you want, but its not a small thing to go to the club on loan in bundesliga and have the players actually give you or acknowledge that you get to shoot free kicks as defender. About people saying that we dont need rcb, yes we fucking do because are cb's are fucking shit.
 
Don't see this happening. But a theory, could he play RB ala Gvardiol?

If he can then we could open margin by selling Kounde and having him an option there with King Eric.

What is it with the Van de Ven hype. Whenever I watched him play he looked like a bum, really fast but still a bum. Add to it that Tottenham will be asking for a record sum for a defender, and it's no deal for me.

Also Tottenham is not a top 6 club anymore, they are fighting relegation, two seasons in a row they finished 17th, do we really want a defender from a side like that .

Club should try for a defender that is not yet playing at a rich club, someone like Ordonez or Lukeba.
