Liverpool

Liverpool fans were crying for years because of City and Chelsea. And now that they could join them with billionaire owners, they are doing cartwheels from joy.

What great mentality, truly one of a kind club and fanbase.
FSG are billionaire owners

That's English football for you, my friend.

It's not about hiring the most suited managers for your club, being astute in the transfer market, developing local born young talent or being innovative on the training pitch.

It simply boils down to who can sell his ass the best. Throw all the money at everything and everyone, and rinse and repeat until it inevitably works. Then you can pump your chest and tell the world how superior you are to everyone else.

And if someone , like Barca for example is superior to you WITHOUT selling it's arse, you can just taunt them about how they are ' broke ' or better yet ' cheating ' somehow.

And that's why English football's got no soul and has lost any authenticity it once had.

Of course you have to be part of the Big 6 Cartel as well ( totally not cheating or corrupt like Argentina of course ) , otherwise no bueno ( Aston Villa and Newcastle ) :spank:
"Big 6 Cartel"

Lmao you're twerking for a league that has a Big 2 Cartel. The primary reason the Premier League has so much investment in the first place is because the league is not set up to enshrine the supremacy of a couple of super clubs to the detriment of everyone else, and so investing might actually seem worth it to someone.

If Isak stays fit:

Isak, Wirtz, Barcola, Szoboszlai together are definitely scary and probably the best attack in the league. Then there's Ekitike, Munoz, Ngumoha and possibly Mbaye.

Iraola is the big question mark. He's a Klopp profile stylistically but remains to be seen whether he can make the huge step up. Obviously in terms of personality, no manager has Klopp's charisma.

@Birdy Do you rate Iraola?

Iraola has done fantastic work at Bournemouth.
If he manages to do the same one tier up, he will stay many years at Pool.
Yes, he plays a lot like Klopp

Let's see...

lol What? The primary reason is that everyone understands English, so the product can be monetized more easily in former colonies like India and because London is the money laundering hub of the world. City and Chelsea are artificial clubs. Without Russian and Arab oligarchs, the EPL would naturally also have 2 top teams at most: United and Liverpool. Pre Abramovic, it was only one: Man United. Arsenal were barely competing even with Wenger profiting from France's golden generation. Up until Chelsea money, Alex Ferguson failed to win the PL only 3 times between 1993 - 2003.

Pretending like the EPL is some honourable organization that promotes financial equality for all systemically. You can do better.

Language is no barrier in football, each country has their own commentators and pundit teams. Besides, France and China pay more for Premier League broadcast rights than India, and even in South America they pay more to get Premier League broadcast rights than La Liga ones.

We were literally talking about investment into the league and the reasons for it. Yeah, if the league was not set up to be an attractive place to invest then maybe the Premier League would look more like La Liga, because there would be no City or Chelsea able to compete at the top and no others that could get near them. That is kinda the point.

Pretending like the EPL is some honourable organization that promotes financial equality for all systemically. You can do better.
Well the motivation certainly isn't honour, but surely you are not going to try and deny that the Premier League is more equitable than La Liga? Some years the champions of La Liga bring in 20 times more revenue than the team that finishes last. In the Premier League last season Arsenal brought in just over 4 times more than Wolves.

It is more equitable now after the league has been bought by shady oligarchs (where is Abramovic nowadays by the way?) and propped up, which created a feedback loop. Pre-Abramovic, in it's natural state around 2000, United had around 120 million pounds revenue and Coventry City, Watford, Southampton at the bottom were around 15 million, so a factor of around 10. Not different to La Liga. It wasn't really an intrinsic feature of the EPL that it was more fair or attracted investors because of their model. Abramovic's side bitch probably prefered to shop in London rather than Bilbao and the flight route to Epstein Island was shorter. Also competing with 2 powerhouses like Barca and RM remains far more unattractive than injecting money and competing with United and Arsenal.

In 2000 the league had only existed in it's current form for 8 years, and 8x revenue is still quite different to 20x. It was also on a £670m domestic TV deal, which is currently £6.7bn. And there IS an intrinsic difference. A team that finishes bottom of La Liga will get about 30% of the top teams TV revenue, while in the Premier League it's more like 60%. Not to mention that the regulatory system is more difficult to deal with in Spain, as everything has to be pre-approved economically, rather than retrospectively accepted/punished.

120/130 would still be batshit insane if you ask me. I really don't rate him that much.

Maybe Liverpool can stomach it with how shit/inflated the market is. 150m would be daylight robbery.

They get absolutely fucked on the transfer market right now. Asking price for even average wide players is 70m+

I only realized now that they paid € 145M for a Swedish-Eritrean bum, € 125M for Wirtz and € 90M for a 15 goal a season Bundesliga striker? lol Those are all Leverkusen level players. I would believe that Klopp would make it work but anyone else? Looks like ManU's demise after Ferguson who also somehow kept winning the PL with bums like Anderson, 40 year old Giggs, Jones, Rafael, Valencia etc.

Would not be surprised at all if Pep and Klopp leaving brings back the ManU vs. Arsenal days for the PL title.
