Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi

Holy shit the crying on social media. This guy has milions of people in a neurotic breakdown

Nothing even remotely controversial in this game. Stamp on foot for the disallowed Egypt goal - textbook foul. Not enough contact for a penalty in Enzo equalizer, especially considering the increased criteria

When Portugal robbed Croatia you didn't hear even 10℅ of this noise. That just speaks how insane Messi is and will lead so many people to bias even though deep down they know this guy is not normal.
There are sooooo many tears about how Argentina robbed this match.

Egypt was up 2-0 at 80 minutes!! They only can blame themselves. People are idiots

lmao If he played alongside N. Mendes, Vitinha, Bruno, Neves, he'd easily win this WC.

Who are even these jobbers? McAllister, De Paul, Paredes, Tagliafico etc. Sounds like a Copa del Rey Segunda team that gives us hard time away from home with 200 % effort but with no actual skill.

Battling with prime Mbappe @ stacked France for top scorer at 39 years of age alongside these jobbers should be called the 8th World Wonder at this point.
Kinda disagree, these jobbers may individually be mediocre, but fight hard and have an insane team spirit

in reality this fighting spirit has actually been. ore important than technically gifted sissys as far as Messi is concerned. granted, this specific iteration of Argentina lacks technically a lot compared to what would be ideal but they do fight hard. their defence is not solid this year though.

Actually all he needs is a 30 year old Di Maria to this current Argentina team and they go to the final and probably give France a game (don't know about winning but definitely would make it a game).

The lack of a genuine, world class wing treat + clutch gene in another forward is the missing link. Plus a wing threat pulls away gravity/crowding from Messi.

Show some respect.

They may not be World Class, but they have the right attitude and helped the GOAT win 1 World Cup, 2 Copa Americas and 1 Finalissima after the GOAT failed to win anything with a Golden Generation of Aguero, Mascherano, Di Maria and co.

I will always go for this generation than any other "Golden Generation" of any team.

I think the reason he sucks at penalty's or is say average is that he gets in his own head too much. With the rest he can move on instinct by instinct. But with penalties he overthinks.
He seemed to have figured it out last wc. Just stick to that neymar type penalty.

Everyone on the internet and all my friends hate Argentina.
That's fine, but what's up with all the crying about refs and rigged world cup.
Did everyone suddenly forgot about the football rules?

In regards to the GOAT, I have no words anymore, he is a god walking among immortals on the field.
I hate all the top nations in fifa tournaments because they have favourable treatments. For example, that goal ruled out would never happened if it was other way around. But, egypt had 2:0, and they conceded 3 goals in the manner that no serious team, especially some team that should advance in qf stage in world cup should concede. They gave 10 seconds to lautaro to cross, thats like giving anyone in professional tier in any sport training oplrtunity. You literally saw lautaro having enough time jogging, lifting his head up, and having all the time in the world to cross it. Literally, i think in 6 out of 10 attempts i would cross it at enzo head in those training circumstances. They havent got called any late penalties, they played total shithousery of football and expecting to have some sympathy? Clear example, croatia had eaten portugal alive in the second half, chance after chance, and croatia got stuffed with middle finger deep from var and ref not only about that last goal, penalty and one ruled out goal, croatia scored 3.

Arg were galaxies far away better team, and thank god they advanced.

All the pr cristiano pussie fuckers and fifa robbed us of an epic match between croatia and spain, because portugal with this pr primadona showed 0 or nothing.

Fuck cr7, but also, fuck big nations(including argentina) too.

I do feel 50/50 decision tends to go Argentina's way but my god. People act like its south korea x 10.
I dont know if its penaldo fanboys, paid campaign or they just hate messi/Argentina or really believe it but its such an overreaction.

Now show the names of the teams he faced

Stats say 5 completed dribbles but I don't think I've ever seen Messi this bad when dribbling, it looked like he didn't even make it hard for the defenders.

Amazing though how he managed to turn up the last 15 mins or so. He looked exhausted at the end and especially visible for Enzo's goal when he points to Lautaro to get the pass instead. Curiously the defender followed Messi which opened up space for Lautaro instead. Influencing the game even when walking, no fake cheerleading needed here.

Probably 2 or 3 of the 5 were on that run he made where he set up the Lautaro header

People (probably the CR PR machine) crying about easy path but if Portugal had done their job it would be Argentina-Portugal in QFs now, with everything in their (CR stans) own hands to stop Argentina.

Portugal played 5 matches this WC. Failed to win against Congo and Colombia. Lost to Spain. Won against mighty Uzbekistan and only other against Croatia. And we all saw how they won that one.

CR record: 2 goals against Uzbeks and one from a dubious penalty vs. Croatia.

They just can't face the facts.
