Kylian Mbappé

Everything about Lamine and Messi is different. It symbolizes the change in times and eras.

Their playstyle, their personality, their abilities, their physical characteristics. Everything.

Lamine is the 'next Messi' from a historical perspective, the next leader of Barça in attack and it's next big La Masia superstar.

Not the 'next Messi' in anything that really has to do with football.

Same can be said for Mbappe and Ronaldo.

Stop about Messi.

I love the guy to bits and he is my favourite player of all time, but this idea that he is some sort of super humble guy is mistaken.

He is just super super introverted and as such his arrogance doesn't come out in the traditional ways like interviews and whatnot, it comes out in his own introverted way like sipping on a Pepsi during training meetings, ( a defying of the coach that has, to this day, not been shown by our friend Lamine. ) and liking Chelsea and Inter on Instagram during contract negotiations.

I don't begrudge him for it because it's the way things are, just like I won't begrudge Lamine for championing himself for the Ballon d'Or.

These players have very very small levels of WISDOM and as such, it is amongst impossible for them to fight off the arrogance that will come from their superstardom.

Lamine for the most part talks maturely and respectfully and expecting him to not display little bouts of arrogance here and there is asking for too much of an ideal world.

That's not to say that Leo wasn't more humble than him, he was, but in the same vein Lamine shouldn't be grouped with the likes of Mbappe, Bellingham and Vini either, whose arrogance is so big that it really does make them intolerable.

Lamine is simply following the CR7-Mendes strategy.

As for him being a textbook narcissist then it's way too early to make that call. Don't see anything suggesting that right now.

Everyone is campaigning for that BdO right now. Heck Fabian Ruiz was posting his trophies won past season and tried to put his name into the mix recently too

Our fanbase need to realize one thing which I see a lot of people struggling to cope with: Not everyone is Messi. Messi is a once in a lifetime type of player and personality. Every single one of us on this forum will never see someone like Messi again in our lives.

If you're going to compare everyone to how Messi played or acted or how he was humble off the pitch and didn't talk nor do PR interviews then you're just going to end up disappointed and you'd frankly be deluded to think someone of that stature would behave like him because I am yet to see an athlete of similar level in any other sport be like Messi.
I don't think it's about a Messi comparison.

If some fans are calling things out, that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Messi.

If this were Mbappe or any other player moving the way he's moving at his young age, people would still call it out, and if it worsens, they'll draw the line from when they started seeing signs. Again, it doesn't have anything to do with Messi

What I find most interesting is that you have been the defense lawyer for every non Barca player on this website ( Dembele, Diomande, Osimhen etc ) and now that a Barca player is in the dock you have changed into a prosecutor, for once. :okmessi:

A prosecutor for saying what is obvious? I'd prefer if we say it as it is (Barca player or not).

If I see any young player moving the way he is, I'll call out the attitude; that doesn't dispute his talent cause he has it in abundance.

If you saw my take on Raphinha, you'd see me say he's the best player this season, and I hope he keeps this form without injuries.

I think takes are subjective; what you see as defense is me giving my take. Like for Osimhen, I cleared the air about him not moving to Chelsea, as they tried to lowball him and said he would've been dumb to move there with the reduced wage, or my take on Diomande (him being a good talent that I don't like Madrid buying, cause I feel he'll eventually replace Vini, who I think is getting worse and worse, and I feel Diomande would then become really good for them and a burden to others), or my take that Dembele deserved the Ballon D'or when he won it, being the main guy for PSG (most goals and assists for them), as they swept all the trophies that season with him winning best player in both UCL and their league.

If Yamal has a season with us where we win the UCL and La Liga, with him winning the best player in both competitions, you'll never see me making a case for him not to be the Ballon d'Or winner that season, cause it won't make any sense. The same would apply if you swap Yamal's name with Raphinha, but the accomplishment stays the same.

Humility has nothing to do with introversion.

We all know that when Messi is off camera with his friends, he likely admits he is the best but he isn't arrogant enough to declare it publicly.
He's probably laughing at Cristiano too

Any player who goes public and starts yapping about trophies, balondor, declaring "i was the best this year" and things like that is going to face criticism (especially when he certainly wasn't the best).

If Yamal were 16, 17 or 18 years old i would understand it.
He is no longer a teenager.

Yamal just recently turned 19.

While I don't like some of his behavior this past year, he hasn't done or said anything too egregious.

Last season, they had a better win rate without him than with him. Him being injured means a happy Vinicius who becomes the target player again, playing time for Espi and Endrick. And they get an additional player to run without the ball. So I hope he recovers quickly.

The irony that it takes an injury to one of their biggest egos in order to get them to potentially play like a team

France look more organized under Zizou but you can see they are not accustomed to playing like a team - a lot of combination passes were way off. But Dembele as a #9 is an odd tactical decision with Mobutu back to LW

Damn, it's like one of our own players got injured. :(

If I wasn't sure before, now 100% they come on Camp Nou to park the bus. Game got more complicated for us.
