The club gets much attention and many new "fans" on the one hand, on the other he'll demand 50m/y in the next extension.
 
I don't excuse Lamine at all, he's the same narcissist as the other big shots. The only difference is he plays for Barca and we simply okay this.

We all have friends in life, in mine none of them are FC Barcelona fans. And the opinion on Lamine is unequivocal - piece of shit, only Mbappe and Vini Jr are somewhat above.
 
They care more about this journalist award than actual World Cup or their countries. These people have no real loyalties.

He is, but he's also still a 16 year old teenager in his head. The outlook for him going forward doesn't look good though, even Mbappe wasn't that self-centered in this age and I doubt anyone in his camp will keep him on the ground. His father is the typical low IQ thug and his mother now enjoys the rich life. No one close to him will risk his displeasure by confronting him, risking monthly payments.

The self centered player sacrificed himself for the team in WC and understood his limitations after the injury, accomodated his game to make the team win instead of gaining stats

We are discussing off the pitch here. At Barca we're used to having humble players, always respectful on opponents in front of media.

Lamine is different - clearly outspoken, remember back Euro 2024 when he had that little feud with Rabiot. He doesn't hold back. In a way it's a fresh air at Barca, but still this is cocky behaviour.

The last player of this type Barca had was, speaking from memory, Romario. He was uncontrollable. And speaking of him this moment always crack me up :lol: :

Think players at Barca around 90s were lot more outspoken and aggressive in their demeanor. Some tough customers beside Romario, like his fellow striker Stoichkov and hot headed Lucho. Think the whole atmosphere in classicos was way way more heated, but not in the same sense of social media fueled feuds and dramas, but what happened on the pitch. Men were more masculine, as in, men. Instead of giving passive-aggressive interviews to their social media teams, they would kick and shove each other on the pitch viciously, throw poisonous slurs and show fuckfists and middle fingers to fans of the opposition (concretely remember Stoichkov doing that in one of the matches after scoring lmao).
 
Lamine is a textbook narcissist lol.

Mbappe is worse though, because RM won nothing and France got smacked in their first tough game in WC.

For me, Lamine’s flaws don’t mean much unless they start hindering Barca in important games/ trophies. He’s been great this season so far

The interesting thing about Lamine is that he's still young, it could actually get worse if he follows this pattern and then lads would be able to draw a line from what we're seeing now and what we could see later.

Lamine is simply following the CR7-Mendes strategy.

As for him being a textbook narcissist then it's way too early to make that call. Don't see anything suggesting that right now.

Everyone is campaigning for that BdO right now. Heck Fabian Ruiz was posting his trophies won past season and tried to put his name into the mix recently too :lol:

Our fanbase need to realize one thing which I see a lot of people struggling to cope with: Not everyone is Messi. Messi is a once in a lifetime type of player and personality. Every single one of us on this forum will never see someone like Messi again in our lives.

If you're going to compare everyone to how Messi played or acted or how he was humble off the pitch and didn't talk nor do PR interviews then you're just going to end up disappointed and you'd frankly be deluded to think someone of that stature would behave like him because I am yet to see an athlete of similar level in any other sport be like Messi.
 
I mentioned it previously, that comparisons to Messi should be thrown out of the window immediately.

Lamine is truly exciting technical player and if healthy, no doubt he'll be crowned as BdO many times in the coming years. But the 2025/26 campaign was nothing spectacular.

It wasn't a great individual season for anyone and France Football have no idea whom to give the award. Thus everyone simping for the award through PR media appearances.
