If Argentina lost in the semis, and Messi did the same as Mbappe, no one would complain here. Also it was only a matter of time until Mbappe breaks the record, most likely he will hit 30 goals at the next WC.

Today in football stats are important for internet fame, why wouldn't they do it, with the records they broke they will get more exposure and more money from sponsors and commercials.

It's more stupid to not see the backlash against Messi in the same scenario. Kane didn't.
And clearly a friendly, was always the case and was always annoying like David Villa not winning the boot.
 
Smiling arrogantly everytime England scored and cracking jokes with Tuchel at tunnel when they are down 0-4 instead of showing some leadership and demanding your team to wake the fuck up like a real captain would do. What a great captain for the national team. I’m sure the fans at the stadium and Dechaump in his fairwell game really appreciated that.
 
Since he won th WC at 19, he hasn't won a major trophy since, he'll be 28 in this year.

No French league titles for PSG doesn't count.

Things change quickly and he's heading into his prime,he needs to get his shit together on the winning side soon

But yea since he was 18/19 he's just been stat passing and not winning as part of the collective
 
I like the guy, but he needs to start winning soon, hopefully not while he's at Real Madrid.
He's a physical beast, and that's not a trait that tends to age well.
Also, while he's always been phenomenal at the World Cup, his goalscoring record will probably become far less relevant if those greedy money hunter fucks at FIFA expand the tournament to 64 teams.
 
He probably won't be winning anything next season either. Barca is well ahead in Spain, while Madrid is maybe 5th or lower favorites in the UCL.

Barca won 2 league titles in a row in pretty dominant fashion. It's only natural to expect Madrid to wake up a little.

It depends on Barca. If we get a CB and striker this summer they likely won't have a shot at the league. If not then they will

I don't know that I trust Mourinho to turn things around. There's questions around whether his tactics are modern enough to thrive in today's game.
 
Very talented player that stopped caring about winning once he got the World Cup. Very weird how he focuses solely on scoring goals and individual awards. Seems like some Ronaldo influence there
