Jofre Torrents

Meh deal, but he's a meh player - he'll most probably be back next summer anyway.

Has looked quite promising despite major injuries imo. After a few years of injury free development who knows. Def wouldn't count him out and find it silly that we'd have to spend 15 mil net for our own player in case he pans out.

Why would any club want to bring in an unproven young player on a one-year loan, only for that player to leave afterwards? At the end of it, you have neither the money nor the player.

What do you mean? Ajax takes 0 risk beside his low wage and they probably need a backup LB anyway since they want to loan him. If he turns out ok they have the option to buy him, but nobody will force them - so what do you mean?

I mean in the scenario that every Barcelona fan on the forum wants, not the current one. Everyone here wants Ajax to develop him into a player for free while getting absolutely nothing out of it for themselves. It’s not like they’re signing Araujo, where you know that, you’re getting a quality player for one season and then he’ll eventually return to us, so at least you know he helped you. With Torrents, it’s not really like that.

Waffles has shown enough to show he is worth 5m today.

Although I would much prefer we just loan him to an attacking LaLiga2 side to get minutes and confidence.

We probably gave him away to sweeten the deal of Mats. So instead Barca paying 100% of his wages at Ajax we got away with only 90%.

Only thing I can conclude from these recent developments.

2 words.

Shit and deal.

Special Olympics Special of the Day.

Cooked up by world renown chef Alain Decoasse.

This week's Special to be written on the board later today. ' Caviar and Ferran sold to PSG for 25m, with some liver, fava beans and a nice Chianti. "

Stay tuned for the end of the month when we will be serving an 'all you can eat' buffet :laporta2:

Barca have a ton of players with value they have lost badly on while leaving.

Abde and Trincao alone will probably have lost 25m-30m on as made short term deals due to the poor FFP situation they have contributed to in previous seasons.

Nico was another one.. 20m odd in on a player City payed 60m for.

Dro another one.

Tincao was sold for 40M, we had 50% that we sold for 11M. That is 9M loss, we sold 30% of Abde at Roque deal. To reach 25M loss, Abde needs to be sold for around 53M or 54M. Possible but not sure. EPL seems hesitant so far to offer big package for him.

Nico wasn't worth 20M when he left us. Porto got more money because they earned it, developing him into better player and showing him for buyers.

If we sell Roony for massive profit, does anyone expect Copenhagen to have bigger profit than us. Benfica made massive profit from 6 months if having Enzo, so will RB with Diomande. It is the nature of the market.

Those are players we ultimately made a pretty ok profit on. It could have been a bit better, but it could also have been worse. Considering the financial situation we were in and the performances those players were putting in, it was fine.

Dro left because he didn’t want to renew his contract. You can’t put him in the same category as Abde, Trincao or Nico.

We don’t have a Papa Perez who has friends willing to overpay for his players in exchange for other favors.

Dro left because the club had him on a poor contract that left him open to leaving for 6m and had his head turned.

They left it far too long before trying to improve it.

Teams are not over paying for Reals players as a favour to Perez.

Just the type of shite some deluded fans believe.

He left when he turned 18, just when he was supposed to get a new contract with us. You also have to earn a better contract, and he had only just started breaking through.

But there was talk that the release clauses would be structured a bit differently, if they play for Atletic, it would increase to 10 million, and if they make an appearance for the first team, it would go up to 15 million.

He left as had a 6m clause that made it far too easy for likes of PSG to take him when showed up in frst team.

The club did not have to wait until he was 18 to renew him.

Even the new structure does not protect players enough if show up well and the contract not improved quicker.

It was a bad idea to know how highly Flick rated Dro in pre-season and leave him on such a low BO.

DRO had renewal issues the Summer before, so it is not as if we didn't know we may run into renewal problems either.

Sometimes we are our worst enemy as too many contract renewals left to last minute. Perhaps it is FFP issues.

Then you see Madrid selling chip and biscuits for premiums.
