Depends if that the buyback is 20m for those 50% of rights which is excessive, or valued at 20m which is us paying 10m.

Not sure how that is seen as a good deal in any way really.
Getting nothing for him this summer and Ajax get to decide if he is worth 5m for 50% over the season?
If it is about development surely can get him a loan to La Liga and retain control.

Although some people claim that this is bad for us, I actually think it looks fine.
If he becomes a solid player, we’ll be able to get him for 15 million in total. If he ends up being worth around 20 million but we don’t want him, we’ll make 15 million from him, which is still fine.
In short, if he becomes an excellent player, we can buy a LB for 15 million, and if he turns out to be average, we’ll still make at least 10 million on him.

Bizarre if that is the deal and made out to be a good one.
This feels like the type of deal that lost Barca a lot of money on Cucurella/Nico etc when player does well.

Is he even worth more than 5 million right now? In my opinion, not really. At the moment, he has the potential to be worth 20 million, and he could become an even bigger prospect.

Barca are not getting 5m and why would this be better deal than loaning him out in La Liga with no 5m buy option?

Because he doesnt have to accept it and Barca as we have seen may not be in position to pay 20m for a back up LB.

That’s why it’s better to sell the player. If you loan him out, they might not care as much whether he plays or not, if he has a bad game, they can just leave him out since he’s going back at the end of the season anyway.

We don't know if La Liga clubs were even interested.
He showed close to nothing tbh to be a desirable player for such clubs tbh, the club is hoping that Ajax will do the work and increase his value, and if they do, they will deserve the money they get.
Cucurulla looked really good in Barca B and there was a reason he became La liga starter the moment he moved out, Torrents is more like a poor man Mirando IMO.

The media are reporting La Liga sides have been interested and would think it unlikely they havent been if likes of Ajax are interested.

We offered him for Salinas and Racing has been turning that down.
Maybe La Liga clubs wanted him on loan while us paying part of his salary, while Ajax is covering the whole thing.
Miranda were very hyped after the U17 Euro and WC, when he was starting there. Freaking Abidal thought he deserve to take Digne role at 18.
There was a time when he was rated much higher than Torrents today.

There is no reason to make up rumours of La Liga teams being in for Torrents and when better teams are then it makes sense.
Racing want Salinas clause and other teams interested.
Kounde and Casado are irrelevent as there is not one reports anyone is bidding that for them.
It is a poot deal for Barca and good for Ajax.
