The only 2 seasons of him being solid being under the manager that plays ultra offensive kamikaze ball which makes it super hard for you as a striker not to bang 20-25 goals all comps if start consistently

Successful is a stretch. His time here has been hot and cold, with some moments where he was great and useful for us but most of the time his level was not sufficient according to what we needed. He is not really a flop, but I wouldn't call him a successful signing either.

Traore turned fraud, actually.

Ferran was the only one signed on long term. The guy actually turned really the clutch player we need, but living on a golden sub paycheck, never a starter.

PSG offer him the same deal and he doesn't realize it.

I think the time to sell is perfect. If only he had 1-2 more years on his contract it could have been a 70m deal with his current hype.

Exactly, the goal in the final increased the fee at least by additional 10m. Without it, the offer would have been even blow 40m. We sold on a high with a big profit for the books and lost an inconstant player, who thinks he's far better than he actually is. Something fans demanded all these years and when the club does it, it's wrong again. Just shows you can never make it right for everyone.
Pretty sure the club sees this transfer as a success.
 
The press tour he’s gone on has been surreal. But that’s the perks of scoring the winning goal in a world tournament hosted in the states I guess.
 
He's a good player, but he's milking that goal heavily. A real top class player doesn't go 4 months without scoring. He was a notable squad player, but as soon as he demanded a big paycheck above this role, the club didn't agree, and they cut him loose. I can understand that. He had 4-5 years to really establish himself as a starter, and failed.
 
Can you imagine the hype level if an actual good and marketable footballer scored that goal in the final, like Mbappe, Haaland, Yamal?

If Mbappe scored that the story would've lasted a week because everybody would see it as expected job being done, just a world class player with another world class moment.

Exactly my idea.

Reason Ferran is getting so much attention because people don't really know who he is in America.

And he scored a WC winning goal. So naturally he gets a lot of attention and interest.

It could have been Nico if the goal wasn't disallowed (tbh still not sure exactly for what). Or if he converted the easy header from 5m that Pedri set him up.
 
I'm kinda surprised he didn't stick around for one more season to get the applause in every LL stadium, his world cup victory tour if you will, then leave on a free for a sign on bonus but guess he has milked it enough at this point.
