Ebrima Tunkara

The problem Diarra has is that through injuries and having to stay in Mali till 18, that he is basically the same footballing age as Tank.

He is/was a huge talent still though, who needs an injury break.

Wanted to add that the biggest loser in all of this is Sama Nomoko. He was the best wide player the B team had last season and closest to first team dynamics. Damn shame he went down long term.
 
The good on Nomoko is that his development was rather natural rather than jumping categories or being overhyped which contrasts to both Tunkara & Diarra. Between the 3, I struggled to see us keeping even 2 of the 3 long-term but I hope I’m wrong

Nomoko seems like such an interesting talent, hope he recovers well from his injury and we see him in pre-season next summer because the injury he sustained was pretty serious and recovery is lengthy
 
Nomoko is different profile than either, as he is a pure athletic wide player. Can play either wing, and if he can commit to defensive side he could be an Alphonso type of fullback.

I can't see him playing more central role like the other two
 
With this Jesse kid we have a lot of players fighting for maybe 1 spot at most in the current senior team squad.

Good problem to have though. May the best kid win.

Hopefully we make the right decision on who to keep

Personally don't get the hype around him.

He almost didn't play, let alone looked as a talent since then. A sad situation but it's hard to see him going to the top. I don't think there is a question if the club should push him or Tunkara. It's Tunkara all the way.
 
Excited to see him in action tonight. Seems like a great package, sturdy and fast with good decision making and not too bad of a shot either.

Sure, did well to make the difference in that game but if I'm being blunt, there is not a single action from that final that makes me think major talent.

From the eye test alone, what here suggests a player above his level in general ability?

Major? What does that even mean?

He absolutely has been a coveted talent by the club since his arrival. Club counts on him and had he not gotten injured he would’ve been in pre-season last season where talents audition for the step to 1st team

If you are being noticed, if you are being talked about, you are a talent with potential - wide spectrum for that but at a minimum good enough for 1st team consideration is all the major a player needs to be

Major talent meaning a player who's got a serious chance of playing first team football for us one day.

I'm aware there are people at the club more qualified to assess this kid's ability than me. But it's more fun to take a stance and test your eye against others'.

He is a difference maker.
Think of players like Fermin, Fati (pre-injury), Bellingham, Muller etc. They can make a difference with a goal or assist in a couple of plays in the game.
Diarra ain't flashy, if that is what you are looking for.
 
Starts.

Flick will be playing 2 different 11s in first and second half.

Don't know if It means much in terms of how Flick rates everyone, but the only thing of significance is that Tunk will be in the 10 role it seems.
 
Seemed to me extremely raw. He should be kept in the 2nd team mostly for about 2 more seasons. Doesn't really play like a midfielder. More like a player in the next compartment above midfield.

No need to be impacient with him.
