I'm not defending Kounde, only the fact he's capable of playing as CB, probably the 5th option in the rotation.

But who is this guy, starting CB really?

Can be even a surprise signing like how Martinez was. Up to Deco to find it. Doesn't have to be high profile or expensive.

Bilbao got a World Cup winning defender for 10m. Where was Martin. Not even called up.
 
Anyone saying we have depth at CB is clueless. We lost Inigo last year and lost Araujo this year. Kounde is not a CB anymore. Garcia is alright in case of injury but he gets easily out-muscled. Christensen is perma injured. Martin was good last year but not CL-winning quality. Cubarsi is great when next to an experienced lcb which we don't have. I don't see any depth at all.
 
Now that we have Rodri, we should either buy a starting level CB and focus on having an all around good team or we buy a great striker and go all in on the attack. Gotta pick one. I'm seeing the vision from deco so far.

Get Laporte for LCB (if there is a clause), and try to sign a decent 9 before the deadline

Well, i meant the 15m clause (if it exists). I believe the 80m is not a clause, it is the price Bilbao would sell if there is no clause.
Which is of course prohibitive

Every player in Spain has a buyout clause.

Makes no sense of Athletic to ask for 80m if his buyout is as low as 15m.

If there is a 15m buyout as well then there's probably some conditions behind it.
 
If Laporte would have a 15m clause he would already be here imo.

Unless he wants to stay in Bilbao then his clause is irrelevant.

But anyway, I'm sure Deco knows about all of this.

He has a 15m clause just like Salinas had an 8m clause.

Anyways if you read up about what's happening in Girona people would know that these clauses are not black and white. Guys like Tysankov and Vanat wanted out because of these clauses being seemingly activated after relegation but the club refused to honour them.

As such the players refused to play first game.

Basically the cost and time of contesting this through litigation is not worth the hassle, and this is a feeder team backed by City group. So imagine butthurt cunt chops like Atleti and Bilbao.

CB will happen because no one can look at our defence and be okay with it. Especially if we are in a FFP shitstorm next year. The Board is shrewd.

I'm very impressed by the scouting of young players recently. This guy may actually be our best sd in a while. If he manages to get a good striker or cb, this transfer window will be perfect.
