Cristiano Ronaldo

The end to this whole 'goat debate' thing truly is brutal.

A poetic reminder of what piping down to the greatest will eventually do to your life.

I'm sure it was nice being mentioned next to him for more than a decade and watching people delude themselves into believing you are better.

But now, I am sure Ronaldo wishes nobody ever compared him to that guy. Because he was an outrageous footballer, enormously talented and gifted with a little bit of everything a footballer needs.

Yet in his delusional attempt to catch up with the freak of nature that is Messi, he eventually became a meme. His people turned against him, his past clubs have turned against him. All for his selfishness and greed, that all steems from his desire to reach heights not him or anybody else can reach.

Rafael Leão on CR7: "Certainly, he's happy at home with the victory."

Certainly

You don't think he will shamelessly rejoin the team when it's time to play for trophies and to leech on his teammates' hard work?

I'm not sure what is greater, CR's unwillingness to sit on the bench or the opportunity to stand in the middle of the squad with a trophy in his hands, as if he did all the work.

The way football is going, you can't win with a corpse of a striker on the pitch. We learned that the hard way at the end of Amigos era. It was proven again last year with Lewa in comparison with Rapha now. You need 10 runners on that pitch. Even if you are a posession team. Klopp started that trend and now Hansi is taking it a level higher.

Leo ran his arse of with Argentina in the WC. Yes he plays in a meme league now, but even at 38 he gave his all for the country. If CR (Corpse Ronaldo) thinks he can just stroll around and make an occasional run in the box Inzaghi style, well that doesn't work anymore. With him gone, Portugal are a better team.

Bottom line: wanting to be a starter for the NT from the top 10 at 41 years of age is a little too much to ask.
Like a Prima Balerina still wanting to play Carmen at 55.

I don't know what he is like as a person among his teammates in the locker room but if they saw a leech in him, they surely would have ostracized him and he would have left one way or another because no team will perform well in a toxic atmosphere. Maybe that's what happened...but I think not so much a leech as a voice of authority that too often oversteps the boundaries demanding everyone to pay him unconditional obedience including players and stuff.
Ronaldo's problem is that he can't accept he is done.
The rest of the squad is far from as flamboyant and horny for publicity. There are old-ish videos of both Bruno and Cancelo together with Cristiano, not looking very amused.

This will surely be spun by CR as him being treated unfairly and that he will feel disrespected. I think it would have been more disrespectful if they forced Cristiano to have a testimonial or that they didn't call him up at all because he sucks. Now at least he got the chance to prove himself for the coach who then chose somebody else. So there is no outside factor CR can blame here but himself. It was always evident he'd milk as much as he could from this teet and he will keep aiming for that 1000th goal even if he is walking with a stick. That's delusion for ya.

It has already started. Shouts of disrespect based on nothing.

Achraf Ben Ayad commented on Jesus' Insta:
You’re a great coach, but a legend like Cristiano deserves to be respected. The issue isn’t whether he participates or not; it’s simply about knowing how to treat a genius who took Portugal’s name to the very top. I’m a huge Messi fan, but that doesn’t stop me from respecting and praising a genius like Cristiano. Thank you.

This is just random bullshit for a potential netflix series for when they win the Nation's League with him on the bench.

Dude wants to recreate in his own way whatever Messi achieved. Messi got his shirt burned in viral videos after the Copa America loss and then went on to come back to the NT and took them to absolute glory.

Cr probably wants to do the same thing before he retires.

Spain too strong.

There is also Zizou's team and his players will give their everything during the KO games.

CR 6.5 is finished even if he returns.

It's Nation's league , chief

Spain and France and whoever don't give two shits about it

Spain and France will play seriously in the final 4.

LDF wants to extend his dominance and Zizou wants to get off to a good start with the national team.

Also, dont forget about the 2 divas on each team.
