Wouldn't even surprise me, if Cannavaro would somewhere in the future admit FIFA bought them to celebrate some SIIUUS. Playing that open, trying to win the ball in the midfield with his Usbek players against Vitinha, Bruno and Neves was very strange, especially for a traditional Italian. This WC is show first, sport second.

Another statement that is telling of this character. He can say the same playing the 2030 WC. Excuse yourself with the past, no matter how you hurt the present. He doesn't care about his appearance, stan fans or his country. Either he has his SIIUU stage, or he doesn't care because of successful past. In two nights apart, we have seen a sharp contrast between a true football maestro and a complex-driven egomaniac - both failing to win their World Cup.

One was crying uncontrollably, covered with shame and guilt that he wasn't able to lead his nation all the way in his last chance. The other is hiding his tears from the people, making excuses for himself and shifting the blame elsewhere.

One is called a crybaby, the other a mentality monster.
 
If FIFA actually had integrity for the game and upheld his 2-game ban, Portugal might've got away with keeping him as a super sub had they played well and won those 2 games without him.

Wild to watch a 41 year old prance around with zero self awareness in a WC last 16. Spain defence didn't even bother to mark him as they knew he posed no threat to them. Hopefully he does the right thing and retires from Int football and also his trolls can retire from this forum and never return.
 
He says Portugal had 0 titles before him, yet two of those titles are Nations Leagues, a tournament that didn't even exist before 2018. How exactly were previous generations supposed to win it if it didn't exist? I know he says things like this because most people don't know much about football, but that's low even for Cristiano standards.

Also teams like Denmark and Greece, with all due respect to them, has also won the Euros so it's not like Portugal did something only CR7 can do.
