Cristian "Cuti" Romero

My problem with him is that if he already has a reputation for cards while playing in a normalish system, what would happen when its a suicidal system of Hansi where the CBs are supposed to be elite in discipline?

Look at Araujo like, guy would be a top player anywhere else in a normal system, but come Hansi's and he looks like a ticking time bomb.

If he's costing 40m, I would seriously consider adding 10-15m on top and getting Lukeba, cuz atleast he fits Hansi.

Every transfer has it's risks. Rodri may never be the same after his UCL and if not, that is 70m and huge wages for 5 years pissed up a wall.

The risk with Cuti is is he going to step up in concentration, attitude and desire if he plays for us? Is he going to be Argentina Cuti, rather than Spursy Cuti ? I think he will.

He's fairly quick, brilliant on the ball, and seems to have the Sergio Ramos knack of getting far less cards than he should do. Of course, like Ramos, he has a red in him, but tell me a super aggressive, pro-active defender that doesn't.

Cuti is the cunty we've always wanted and needed. He gives the team that little bit of cuntyness that you need at times to get you over the line. The same as Ramos did.

At 40m, if he can stay fit, there's nobody you can get better than Cunty Cuti. :gavi:

Not that I'm not rating him but don't see us going crazy. Right footed and not that tall is the opposite of what we (supposedly) look.

But let's see.

Obviously we dont want him.

We need to register Rodri and potentially Alvarez.

I bive we will get Laporte or no one

I know it's really tempting after Rodri to go and hijack this from Atletico and screw them as well, but I just don't see this as a good deal, even if the price seems good.

His arrival would for sure push Cubarsi to LCB, which cannot happen, cause we lose so much in the build up and those progressive passes. We need a left footed CB, or at least a right footed one, who is used to playing LCB and possibly has a very good weak (left) foot.

I'm really surprised how quiet everything became around Bastoni and Schlotterbeck, who both seemed in such high demand and almost certain to move at the start of summer. With Bastoni I kinda get it, since he's an Italian in Serie A (especially at Inter) and then the whole sex scandal also probably scared clubs away, but I'm really surprised Schlotterbeck 60M release clause wasn't activated by either Madrid or Liverpool. I still think we activating it would be a great move (surprised that Flick didn't mention his name as someone who he would possibly want), but since we're now spending that 60M on Rodri, and are still in need of a striker, I just don't see it happening unfortunately.

So who's left then? Maybe Lukeba or Lucumi? They seem to be more in the 30-40M range and thus more affordable.

They can sign whoever they want Atleti is a loser club and will act like that this season too on the pitch.

Their trophy will be the odd win against Barca in league with Alvarez scoring and them going crazy.

They will get smashed by Madrid as usual and complaining about the refs afterwards.

The club is not capable of anything else. From the top board, to the manager, and to player quality too.

They always seem to raise their game against Barca and bend over for Madrid which is weird because Madrid are their real rivals.

The club has huge potential but now Simeone has been holding them back for years. They're too scared to get rid of him because of his legendary status.

Guy couldn't give two shits about Tottenham but would have given his life for Barca, as he is a warrior

It is what it is.

tbh I just saw the video where he dropkicked his wife while playing ball with the family. I don’t want this guy anywhere near Barca. Although he’s a perfect fit for either Madrid team.
