The 4-0 Imo, look we were bad but it was extremely exaggerated that they destroyed us. Proven by the fact, prior to today, we won them 3/4 times and only that fluke game was the only win they had. Today ofc a red card sabotaged us from winning as we were the better team when it was 11v11. Now I don’t want to excuse but the red card basically killed off the game for us today. Hopefully we do something honourable in the 2nd leg.
This AM may be subpar compared to a finished team full of top players like PSG. But come on... they are up there with Barcelona. Cubarsi got toasted by Giuliano twice in 4 days. Blitzed past him and gone he was. Until he scored or caused a yellow.
We can't even cope with players like Giuliano. We aren't really better than AM except when every single main player is fit. In any scenario except this ideal one, I might give AM an edge in a knockout tie.
We don't have many class players. There's 4-5. 2 out injured, Pedri who played like crap and looked off it, sluggish and slow whatever the reason, and this meant it was basically Lamine vs the entire defense of AM.
Add some brainfarts, and a moronic ref (btw, he is Romanian, I know very well how shite this guy is), and that's how you go out from CL.
It's better for us in a way, focus on sealing the league. Miracles do not really happen in CL. No team has ever won CL without huge investments in the squad. Not since Porto 20 years ago when football was very different.
We're trying to win CL with rejects, past it players, and teenagers with zero experience in these games. It takes a lot more than just 2-3 players and the rest filler.
Make an exercise. How many of our players would get into PSG and Bayern? Maybe 2. And even then there's not much between Kvara, Doue, Lamine and Raphinha, or Olise.
Impossible to compete with these elite sides with only 3 players. As it showed, even vs Inter and Atletico it's tough.
