CL Quarter Final 2nd leg: Atletico - Barca 1-2

Was most likely a penalty on Olmo, a correct red card for Garcia, and no pen on Fermin situation (just bad luck). You can add the refs as extra help AM had in the tie, on top of the gifts from us.
Not a foul on Olmo or Sorloth because of the light push, what sets them apart is the fact that Garcia clipped Sorloth's leg while on Olmo there is no contact at feet level.

The only real controversy in this tie is that non-given possible pen in the first leg for the handball.

It's not a light push. There's actually two players of AM there fouling Olmo, Koke and Llorente. Neither plays the ball.

There's two pens for me not given, this one on Olmo and the hand ball in the first leg. Some cards for AM not given, but not a big deal those ones. And reds were correct.

Olmo goes down as he feels hands from Llorente and Koke on him. Weak pen to give.
On Sorloth it's pretty clear that pen was given for tripping.

I feel most people won't even watch replays and just go with the social media outrage shouting robbery.

He doesnt go down immediately at all. He might go down easily when he does but there was legitimate push. Pens been given for less.
Considering Turpin left the game pretty open last night and didn't show many yellows, it was hard for Olmo to get the pen when there was no leg contact. Pens given for less? What is this, basketball? :)

I don’t know about all that. But llorente clearly pushing. I am just saying penalty been given for less. Example in a duel where both players are pulling, then somehow ends up in penalty given.

The inconsistency in calls over the two legs should be a case study for uefa.

It's too late for us now, but it's bullshit.

Two clear penalties not given for us.
But by the book red cards given on the other end.

If you are playing it by the book, do it on all calls

True. All the big decisions went to Atletico. But we all know that the complaint will be discarded by corrupt UEFA and that will be the end of it. Even Barca and Madrid can't do anything against that corrupt machinery.

Yup, because that clown says so. C'mon man :ROFLMAO:

I repeat, a slight push from Llorente and Koke putting his arm around him are not enough for a pen there, when he isn't tripped or clipped from behind. Would have been a very soft pen to give.
not a slight push. clearly puts his weight to it. Very deliberate.

Tripped, clipped are no only requisites for it to be foul.

I'm not that desperate for CL. Because when we get to a final, I want us to be good enough to beat the other side, whoever it is. We get to a final after some easy draws and after yelling about some 50-50 pen we didn't get...

Whoever wins that other side of the board would beat us in a final, even if we scraped past AM, and even Arsenal. And the saying you never know what can happen in a final is true, but not for us. We always set up to win by dominating the other team, and to do that, you have to be better than the other team.

Imo, this is completely different feeling to 2010, 2012, or even 2019. I was fairly confident in those years that if we didn't fuck up, we'd have 3 more CLs.

The feeling these 2 seasons was that, despite playing some entertaining football, we are not good enough to win or even have a good shot at winning. Our focus must be on improving, we still have a lot to improve.

Good points but must you always be so logical and rational serghei? Give in to your all consuming Barcelona passion and fire sometimes :)

Bayern must win today. Having both Madrids in the semis wouldn't be awesome possum. Imagine if Sporting upsets Arsenal at the Emirates.

Flick ball is not similar to Barcelona total football style. Barcelona football is positional mainly, Flick is all about pressing everything in sight, often at the expense of a cohesive and controlling shape.

It's like the difference between a cake with whip cream on top vs a huge dollop of whip cream with just bits of cake in it.

There are no players here for positional type of football you're referring to.

Xavi tried to force it because he was stubborn and just ended up being saved by Player of the season Ter Stegen (has that even ever happened in La Liga before?) plus cross it into box and see what happens. A feat and a miracle but ugliest title we ever won.

Yk guys another thing I noticed, part of these eliminations is us not taking advantage of home advantage. Fact is, in the past 6 eliminations in Europe, we haven’t won the game at home a single time. Record is 2 draws and 4 losses. And before anyone says, we didn’t play in the Camp Nou for most, no. We played in the Camp Nou in 4 out of 6 eliminations and lost in 3/4 games played. 😅😅😅
