He isn’t a proper CM like Modric/Kross. He also doesn’t have the legs anymore. His workrate and technique in the final third made him a great hybrid AM/CM but he can’t do that in elite way anymore. Guler does that far better than him currently. Later also has tremendous workrate like young Silva but has better vision, final passes and set piece ability. He may help him and others rest but Madrid needed a proper CM and they would have been sorted. Tchoumieni is a more technical Casemiro. Bellingham is a menace box to box and Arda is a proper no 10/8 hybrid.

The stats don't agree with you, Bernado Silva covered around 12km per 90 last season while playing all 38 games, so he covered more per 90 than all our midfielders and Madrid midfielders (Guler is around 10km) and even more than Valverde. Silva also has way more tackles, ball regains, and defensive pressures than Guler. He's also technical, holds the ball well under pressure, hardly gets injured, and can help Madrid control the tempo of the game

I don't know why people feel Bernado Silva doesn't have the legs anymore. I think he has 2-3 good seasons left. For the past 4 seasons, he has been averaging 11-12km per 90, while playing almost all games for Pep
 
He is still silky smooth on the ball but his physical limitations make that almost redundant at times.

He is just sooooooo slow and sooooooo weak. Him playing today as a RW was madness and if RM play him there he will be a massive flop.

I think best case scenario is he is their Gundogan, good for the first 6 months or so and then done and dusted.

It's a really poor transfer, and unlike with Gundo, I hope no other clubs saves them by taking that huge contract off them.
 
Looked so spent and so washed up, coudn't be happier not only he didn't end up in Barcelona but at Madrid.
 
Like I said, thank you Real Madrid for buying him and actually saving us. I know when I see a washed up midfielder with no pace left, no physicality, no height and actualy eating potential transfer of a WC/potentially WC midfielder. The kind of transfer we would have done and regretted within a season.
 
Everybody knows he offers nothing on the wing anymore, but as a midfielder he will be a big upgrade for Real.
