Btw there's a report that Gvardiol might look to leave Man City this summer. He has two years left on his contract.

English media are starting to report that Pep is going to announce that he will leave in a few days too.

Maybe Gvardiol could be an option for us? Only thing to think about is how injured he has been this season.
Think RM will be ahead of us if that's the case with Gvardiol.

If Gvardiol is out there you do whatever it takes to get him. Sell Kounde and bring. Run Cancelo at RB

They are in contention to sign him. But I dont know why he would choose them?
They have Carreras for the LB spot, and Hujisen for the LCB spot.

I dont think Flo will pay for another big name signing, especially in the spots they already bought last summer.

I mean based on this season, we have Gerard Martin who is better than both.
Come on, he knows he will walk into the starting lineup.

As said on previous pages had been told City and Barca had been in contacts about players.

City liking Olmo and Barca asking about Savinho and Gvardiol.

Haaland is another one Barca like obviously but not seen as possible.

Thats true, he would be a starter for both LB & LCB if he goes.

My point is Uncle Flo might not see it that way and the guy is proud, getting Gvardiol will mean his last summer transfers were bad and wasted money. Uncle Flo doesnt move like that.

I hope its for Olmo & Gvardiol.
With Silva being linked, Olmo can be said to be surplus to our requirements.

I'd rather keep Olmo, we need to add quality to the team and not losing it. There are like 5 players we should offload before we even start discussing Olmo...

Barca would want to keep Olmo I think the issue would be if you have x2 players of a level at AM when have holes elsewhere in squad.

Added to that there is an alternative out of contract in Silva.

Olmo is worth keeping, but he also not untouchable. If someone wants to pursue him, you listen and see if it is an offer of our liking.

Gvardiol is interesting player. Over 3 years younger in a position that usually have more durable career, fairly versatile and is healthier and younger.

He is 1.85m which isn't an ideal partner for Cubarsi ( although the later is good in aerial challenges, Martin is one of the most dominant CB aerially btw according to datamb). But otherwise it feels he checks a lot of boxes. Probably even more than Bastoni.

I like Gvardiol as a player a lot and should absolutely go for him, if we have a chance.

Gvardiol would be a perfect fit. However, he would cost 100+ mil. Unfortunately, we can't afford that. Regarding that swap deal with City I would rather offer them FDJ than Olmo.

Olmo is a keeper unless a massive offer comes along.

But if we are to make another step in Europe one of the things we need to work on is more AM being able to drop back and help in midfield more. Fermin doesn't really have that to his game.

Olmo can do it better, Gavi is probably the best bet there. But you lose the creativity of olmo.

Which brings us back to 433.

Ain't nobody swapping Gvardiol for Olmo.

City won't let him go for cheap as they paid 90m for him. Reports are they would like to keep Rodri but are ready to accept 60m if he wants to leave, the point being they aren't giving away their best players as if it was charity.

Gvardiol is one of the biggest defensive names out there but he has been injury prone, also 2 years remaining on contract which could favour a buyer. But I don't think those factors are decisive enough for City to sell cheaply.

There are no rumors about City wanting Olmo, there are no rumors that Barca wants or is even able to consider Gvardiol, swaps almost never happen even if there was interest... What's next? We should talk about if City wants to swap Haaland for Fati? You never know, maybe it'll happen, would be great...

Olmo for Gvardiol lol, yeah no thanks. We have a starting RB in Garcia, get us decent backup for RB and than focus on CB and LB.

I'd honestly let all 3 of Ara, Kounde and Balde go without blinking - Balde and Ara are shit and Kounde checked out, we lose nothing with those 3 we can't replace with cheap LL players... and if we actually do some scouting and drop a couple of million on some decent players we would have a great backline.

But, if a HUGE offer comes in for Olmo and Olmo himself accepts it - than sign Silva and use the money towards a 9 and winger backup...

This Olmo talk is purely from me saying have been told City interested in him and in return Barca asked about Savinho and Gvardiol.

Could be shite but what been told and these type of discussions happen a lot more off the cuff than folk realise when one club enquires about a player they can get a name put back to them.

Often goes nowhere.
