We could look at Youssef Chermiti from Rangers as an option for a backup striker/possible development option.

He has 15 goals in the SPL this season and is improving, but their club isn't wholly convinced of him. He has missed a lot of chances, although he still has scored a good number of goals.

He's very athletic, 6'3, really fast, and works very hard on the field, but he is quite raw and doesn't have great awareness of his position. His movement and awareness can improve.

Pretty good dribbler although sometimes takes bad/big touches. Good in the air. Sometimes bad finishing instincts.

I would take him here for around 20m. He'd also come on low wages too most likely. Their manager likes him but their finances are bad so they might be open to selling for the right price. He has interest from big teams outside the top5 leagues (Fenerbahce, Porto).

At this moment, I would be more than ecstatic if we just went for Sorloth and called it a day.

None of the STs has the profile we need, on top of that they are costing upwards of 100m. Osimhen is the only option that fits the profile we should go for, but either we cant afford him or he doesnt want this move.

Maybe next year is the year we should spend bigly on a ST.
One of Isak or Ekitike might put in a transfer request. Or Haaland might finally want to leave.

You think Sorloth will be cheap?

They paid 32 million for him, and despite being 30, this is the prime of his career, he's a late bloomer and coming off 2 great seasons.

I don't think they will release him for less than they paid for him. Some reports mention they are asking 40m which honestly makes sense to me.

He is the profile of striker who will have another 3 or 4 good years and is proving that his recent form is not a fluke, he has really improved.

He will surely have interest from the Turkish giants and from the Gulf on top of any possible Premier League and Serie A interest.

Pedro suits us very well tbh

We also have to think of Barca after Flick by the way. He won't be here forever and our new striker is here to stay for many years most likely. Pedro and Alvarez resemble a traditional Barca striker much better than Osimhen for example, even though for Flick Osimhen would be better

Ya I too think he will be around 35-40m. And that's cheap for a ST these days.

If we are keeping Ferran, then adding Sorloth for around the 40m might make sense. Gives us a different profile up front. We can play two different styles if needed, with just a substitution.
He is LaLiga proven and has a killer header. Can score around 15-20 goals a season, which should be decent for us.

Pedro suits more than Alvarez, that's for sure. But he still isnt the profile we should go for or atleast spend 100m+ on.

As for your other point, I say Barca usually goes for a Target Man striker. Eto, Suarez, Lewa, Zlatan, Kluivert. We usually dont go for a CF/Second striker type of player. A ST for Barca needs to be flashy.
Also, this team especially with Yamal at the helm, needs a Target man.

Can’t talk about Barca of the future without considering the latest trends. Who is supposed to bring that Barca back?

We had Xavi who went in the other direction. Pep’s doing things differently now. So does Lucho.

And so will Barca once Flick is gone.

One player we should definitely keep tabs on is Mayulu. His contract expires next year and all signs point to him not wanting to renew, which could open the door for an interesting move. He’s mainly a midfielder, but Lucho has also used him at right‑back at times.
And if we’re being honest we could even get a bit of “revenge” for Dro if we manage to lure a player like Mayulu away from PSG down the line.

Before spending 30m+ on some bum backup striker you won't get rid of later, go the Lucho way and build your attack without a classic 9. We have enough offensive midfield players able to score goals. If Deco finds a cheap and more or less reliable backup striker (<20m) okay, but I'd go all-in for the defense first. And we also need two winger backups, if Rashford leaves, since Roony isn't good enough, even as a sub.

Yeah.

IMO if it's none of Joao Pedro, Alvarez or Osimhen then spend that money on a top quality winger instead.

How about Kaua Elias? I haven't seen more than YT highlights, but he seems good on those at least...

Hansi Flick on the requirements of Lewandowski's replacement.

🗣️ "It’s not easy to find someone. I think the way we play, the philosophy we have, it’s important that he connects well with the team, but also, a number nine has to score goals. It’s all about scoring goals, and that is what we are looking for. That’s the first job"

Basically no unknown projects or strikers that barely score goals.

Btw there's a report that Gvardiol might look to leave Man City this summer. He has two years left on his contract.

English media are starting to report that Pep is going to announce that he will leave in a few days too.

Maybe Gvardiol could be an option for us? Only thing to think about is how injured he has been this season.

Man one can only dream. But getting Gvardiol & Cancelo would solve our Fullback problem for good. Heck it will make it worldclass.

Not gonna happen, but one can dream.
