Not one soul gives a fuck about clean sheets in UCL. You face top opposition consistently, the objective is to win and if you concede goals along the way nobody cares.

In league football it's different, because it's 38 gamed and at least some of them you have to win with a 1-0 or 2-0. But I think you can easily win the CL with zero clean sheets (no idea if it happened before, but it can)

Attack firing on all cylinders so far. No real top opponent though, has to be said.

Otoh our defence isn't looking as top notch, same has to be said here, we haven't even faced a real opponent. We really need to address the CB issue in January.

We definitely could use a WC LCB, but Christensen is very good when healthy. He needs a short run of games to get back into it.

Kounde and Martin aren't even close to top quality though. Eric isn't either, but he'll always be useful as a 4th option due to being versatile and able to play in other areas. Would love a LCB with pace- having the IQ for a high line is already a given. Kounde being dreadful going forward, weak 1 vs 1 and always losing concentration is bad enough.... but to me the worst part about him is the obvious lack of intensity. He just doesn't have the passion the other players have. Playing at CB vs RB wouldn't make a difference for me.

There’s absolutely no excuse if we don’t bring in a defender this winter. We’re gonna get eaten alive by the top teams in the Champions League with this pathetic defense.

You can't bring all players needed in one transfer window.

It is process.

Also knowing our situation and how team looked before Flick, this looks already much better then we thought.

Next summer, CB and RB. Then we move on next targets.

Really doubt we can bring someone on winter, who is not playing CL and can make our team stronger.

Well, no one was prioritizing DM yet with Rodri (on top of Frenkie's injury) we are benefitting with an upgrade in an area which wasn't high in the priority list like LCB & RB

Imagine when we hit our targets - we had a great transfer window but boggles the mind we didn't land any of the 3 key priorities going into the window. The FW issue is understood even before the window began but LCB & RB?

Hard to comprehend, let's hope it doesn't bite us in the end

We can still pull off a CL win with Kounde/Garcia - but not with Martin or Christensen imo.

To tell you the truth, I ain't seeing a CL win in any formation at the back. Quality is just not there in defense. Don't care how hard you press, that back 4 is gonna have to take consistent pressure in big games and it'll fold.

It's like in boxing, we have a puncher's chance.

Cancelo/espart, new quality CB, Cuba, Garcia/Kounde - it can be done with our fantastic midfield and attack, no doubt.

I don't see CL either but let's see once Rodri fully settles.in and influences others.

For now it looks like we can concede out of nothing.

Rodri is gonna help, but I don't think his impact is gonna be as high under Flick as it was under Pep or De La Fuente, not in current conditions. Our system is built on intensity, speed, and pressing much more than control.

We need more than just Rodri. We needed Romero + a fullback, and we got nothing at the back. I say we have a puncher's chance because attacking wise we can do a lot of damage to any defense.

Defense is overrated, we're going all out attack on everyone. We have enough depth in crucial games to press like madmans for 120 minutes. Once fdj gets back, can see already Flick putting him behind rodri and pedri in pivot role. We're gonna crush everybody, end la liga season with 140 goals tally, cl would be record goal tally too. Fuck them all

Everything is all perfume and candyfloss whilst we make hay against shitters, but I still worry about the mistakes that were made in the summer that are almost inevitably going to cost us in the Champions League.

1) Getting our pants pulled down by Qsg again by selling Ferran for a ridiculously low fee in today's transfer market. And replacing him with someone that never scores.

2) Not signing Espi, a plan B striker who at worst would have been sold on for a healthy profit in 1 or 2 years time and would have severely disadvantaged our only competition for the league.

3) But by far worst of all, not signing Romero who is on a completely different level to any defender we have, not named Cubarsi, for an absolute pittance of 40m.
