Espart should be blooded as a CM prospect, especially now Marques and Casado are going. Think he has far more of a chance making it there than at right back.

Eric and Espart are not fast enough to play full back at business end of the season against top European Clubs.

We want to win the Champions League don't we?

Either of those two will be Numero Uno targets for the opposition if either start at full back on UCL knockout night.

There's a 25m solution ( Munoz ) that enables you to sell a 50m problem ( Kounde ).

It's an open goal, Deco. Over to you.

Fort is all over the place...
And Espart will be a utility player than has shown a lot of maturity and calmness/decision on the ball. Some of the comments seem like they come from people who don't actually follow our youngsters.

Espart is too small. I doubt that 1,75m. Looks like Ricky Puig out there.

  • Haha
Reactions: R9.
Everybody and their mother wanted us to sign Cucu, wtf are you in about?
Grimaldo is mid though, but still better than Balde...

Yea sign cucu after he left Spain and showed quality in England.

I said he was quality in the B team before he left Barca.

But Thanks for confirming you are one of the captains of the hindsight genius club.

He is small, but so was Messi...
I'm in no form or shape comparing Espart to Messi though lol, but Espart will do more than ok if we need somebody to be decent and close to the same level as the rest of the first team.

Dude are you serious right know? You're trying to bring up when he was in the B team? You can't be serious?

Well daah.

Cucu was good at Brighton and we should have signed him. No shit.

Talent spotting by you zero. Lol.

Hindsight genius

You're confusing hindsight with talent spotting. "Cucu was good at Brighton, we should've signed him" is obvious after he proved himself there. The point is whether it was obvious before that. If that's your standard, every successful player was "obviously" a missed opportunity.

Gordon is absolutely going to be the most surprising of all the transfers. You can just tell this guy is going to take over for Raphinha in the near future on the LW.

Imagine we sell Raphinha after he gets hopefully back to form this season. Then we go even more all-in on a striker that isn't some SS type like Alvarez.

Haaland awaits

Espart is not a good option as a rb. Way too small for that position. Only way it makes sense is if Barca is resigned to the fact our defenders will always get shit on. He’s a midfielder.

Alba, Cucurella, Roberto Carlos, Marcelo et al would all be even worse options since they were even shorter?

Height, weight etc etc etc matters nothing - two best players to ever play the game were under 170cm. Sure, I would prefer my CBs and 9s to be a little taler, but it doesn't mean much for a winger or fullback to be tall/big.

Notice Alba used speed to compensate for his lack of physicality and became horrible defensively once he slowed down. And those other 3 showed way more strength than I’ve seen from Espart even for attacking fullbacks. Espart is nonexistent defensively. That’s why I said small, not short.

Havent watched much of Espart to say how speedy he is.
Technically, he is sound enough to play RB well with Lamine on the flanks. Also looked fine while defending.

If he is fast enough to track back swiftly and has ample stamina, as modern fullbacks need? He would do well.

Not everything is about height and speed.

Espart's tech, intelligence, press resistance, passing is all top notch. Not sure about next season but long term he can be our RB if everything goes well.

I saw he is also very good at winning aerial duels despite his height. You have such players. Neves is short too, and he dominates physical midfields with his raw intelligence.

What is modern fullback?

Pep has won CL 3 years ago without a single fullback, folks then claimed it became obsolete position.

2 years later, Lucho won CL with fullbacks being his main difference makers, being athletic freaks with playmaking skills.

This isn't a position with one style being the dominant one tbh. You can be CB (defensive fb) turning into fullback, midfielder turning into fullback (playmaking fb), an old school hugging the line fullback. Not all of them requires the same skill set. Each have their own strength and weaknesses.

Lukeba asked to leave RB.

Lets get those rumours to Barca going.

Reportedly if we get a CB it's either him or Laporte, with Lukeba being Flicks request.

I don't think RB are enthusiastic about negotiating with us after the Olmo deal. We were probably the most annoying club they have ever sold a player to.

80m release clause, reportedly dropping to 65m next summer. So there's some room to negotiate if he can give a Barca si o si request.

Got to be honest though, I checked his highlights and Gerard Martin looks better.

It seems he also has capacity to be a defensive LB (along with Martin) so it could open door to a Balde sale. Maybe that is what the club is considering?

I don't think we will offer more than 50M,
