Since the forum was purged, I think we need this topic, especially now with the CL exit.

I think it's clear that we need a CB, a FB and a CF to be competative in Europe.

So, what are our options? Are there any interesting players at Tottenham in case they go down (I'd imagine most of them have relegation clauses...).
 
Full back spots should be easy to improve for the mere fact our current options are bad.

Tall CB with good acceleration and a sense for offside trap is more complicated.

Getting a striker though... Don't think we can afford an A option.
Could also say whoever comes scores solid amount as the system benefits forwards. Maybe Budimir or Muriqi type for B option.

And then there's the winger backup. I would stick with Gavi and Fermin there because there just isn't enough of money for everything.
 
Sell anyone you gotta sell to improve the team bar the obvious untouchables.

Add Gavi to that too if he comes back to himself after the injury.

Hate to break it to some of you guys but they aren't selling blade, you don't see that sell his profile fullback in today's game, you work on improving whatever limitations you think he has.

Going for everyone with sense in football calling you a top LB a season ago to being sold ain't happening.
 
Rodri and a good central defender. Please. Even if it means going with only Torres as a 9 + Olmo as false 9 option for a season.
 
Gavi shouldnt be at the AM spot from left.

Doesnt have enough on ball and needs to get used to playing deeper and showing more on ball there.

Would hinder him and not improve team.
 
Was thinking of starting this thread. Anyways.

I think an ideal low-cost, but slightly high on wages summer would be for us to go with:
- Senesi & Konate for free.
- Get Grimaldo for around 10m.
- Cancelo for Free/Loan or at max 5m.
- Get Mingueza for free.
- Get Goretzka for free. We need some UCL experience in the midfield, and Goretzka is an ideal candidate for it. With Pedri & Gavi being injury prone we need another top level player in the team. Good opportunity.

For ST we can do it two ways.
- Go all in for Osimhen. 100m or so with high wages.
- Or a player like Sorloth, experienced, tall and can score around 15-20 goals a season.

Use the saved money from the Sorloth deal to go for
- Nusa. Should cost around the 50-60m. Ideal profile to complement Yamal.
- or Abde for cheap. Don't know how much he might cost, but should be less than 30m.

Sell :-
- Casado - 20-30m. Wouldnt want him gone, but if he wants then he can leave. Goretzka will fill his shoes, and will be an upgrade over him.
- Araujo - 20m. This should be his last year here.
- Lewa gone.
- Ferran, if we can get at least 40m. We will need to buy another backup strike then.
- One of Olmo or Fermin. But I dont know anyone in the market that can be bought to play the 10 role reliably. So thats there.

But that ain't happening, don't think the club is even considering that, when we have de Jong & bernal.

I’d sell Kounde, Araujo and Casado in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t extend the contracts of Lewandowski and Christensen, I wouldn’t keep Rashford, I’d keep Ferran as a bench option, and I’d send Fati, Ter Stegen, Fort, and Peña out on loan again.

That’s over €70 million freed up in wages and around €10 million in transfers 😁

It's time to make harsh decisions and sell players who are worth something but have no real future in our club. Then use that money on couple of big signings who we actually want and not just on someone who was left on the market and wasn't too expensive like Rashford.

According to rumors, that's the plan. Let's see how it goes. And what we do with the money should good sales happen. It's not a sure thing money helps our cause, as we know from the past. You can actually weaken the squad if you sign absolute flops for big money.
 
Every summer for last few years the media have said 'big sale' in summer and never happens.

It is as if they want folk to be pleased didnt have to sell players and see it as a win.

Can in some ways see it as being easier this summer if 1:1 and get full sale of player an money saved on books but will be difficult to shift some of them.

Think folk are in cloud cuckoo land with some of fees think clubs will pay for Araujo/Casado etc.
 
Another plus could be election just happening and willing to take more 'risks' or be more willing to let players who have some popularity go.
 
The biggest question here is will we go back to 1:1 rule this summer or not? Until we sort that out we can't talk about anything. However if we do our top priorities should be no.9 and CB. After that we'll need to sign a fullback and backup winger.

1:1 doesnt mean much, we give players big contracts and aren't willing to take risks with selling players.
 
Yeah folk act like 1:1 is normality when isnt and is still restriction due to FFP.

Been brainwashed into thinking this is club back on even keel with FFP and can spend again but far from it.
 
Yeah, we have 100M extra salary cap limit over Atletico, but folks think they are richer than us because they can make signings.
 
I suppose VIP stands should be finished until the start of next season, third tier should also open in autumn...
