Topic for Barcelona's Femení - current title holders of league, CDR title holders and will face Atletico in May for Final, in semifinals of CL vs Bayern Munich

Head Coach: Pere Romeu
League: Liga F

Will be an interesting final. Lyon's coach is the old Barcelona coach who won them the CL's in the past. The current Barca coach was his assistant back then. Teacher vs Student basically.

6 CL Finals in a row, 7th in 8 years - they went from a team that admired the top of the women’s game in OL to dominating women’s football

Bayern last lost 7-1 in October in early CL this season, unbeaten across all competitions until losing yesterday to Femeni - and it was a tense final 15-20 minutes. Very impressive run of form from Bayern and terrific composure to not fold after falling behind 4-1 and Aitana/Vicky coming on. It looked like Femeni were going to pile the goals on but credit to Bayern who stepped up and it made for an exciting end although Pere helped that by pulling his two wingers in Caro & Salma who had Bayern pinned back, creating width & danger

Clara Serrajordi is going to be the pivot for the next generation of Femeni - she is a remarkable Masia talent that will dominate the midfield along with Sydney

Great atmosphere at Camp Nou

Jona hired by Kang to lead OL is an odd confluence of factors for the CL Final. Mentor vs Mentee in Jona vs Pere, CL legends in OL vs the new legends. Great for women’s game

I would prefer to play Arsenal in the final and revenge for last year's loss. I'm also affraid Giraldez will give Romeu a coaching lesson.

Mapi is leaving and Alexia very likely too.

Lieporta will destroy the only section that is still working at this club.

They should allow mixed teams in the CL like they do with relays because at this rate that's the only way the mens team is making a final

There is a U17 Euro going on right now. Spain finished 2nd (behind France) in their group and have qualified for the semi-finals where they will play Germany on Thursday.

We have some good players like Elena Vizuete and Laia Cobetas but probably most talented players of this generation are Carolina Ferrera (a midfielder we've signed from Las Palmas in January) and a promising CB Charlotta Ohlander. Both have just turned 16 a few months ago.

Carolina and Charlotta also both scored in the last group stage game vs Poland. Midfielder Zofia Burzan who scored a consolation goal for Poland was also on trial at Barca in January.

Didn't watch the last game but Ohlander was fantastic vs France.

Hopefully she and Julia Torres (who will join us in summer from Sevilla) will become the longterm CB pair for both Barca and Spain.

They'll probably need more time to develop though so I'm still a bit worried about our CB situation next season with Mapi leaving and Aleixandri very likely missing entire season. Aicha could play CB as well but she'll probably be needed at RB if Ona Battle will also leave as rumoured.

Pere is doing a good job giving minutes and developing youngsters in the league (we can also afford that given our superiority) but for CL games against top clubs we need more experience. Arsenal has announced that Laia Codina is leaving the club. Maybe we should bring her home although she's been dealing with a lot of injuries in her career IIRC.
